Longarmwj builds a JKU

We go in by Helen and turn around at the open part. I'll never go down that back side again. Bumpy and boring...

Finally got to wheel it with the new tires. They worked decent. I know on the WJ they always seemed to hook up well enough but in my opinion they just performed lack luster this trip. I'll for sure be getting some STTs for my next set. But it was nice to get out with good friends!!

Looks like a great time! And the JKU looks great too! :)

Not any mods but I broke my Jeeps cherry this weekend. Went to Adventure Off-road Park in Tennessee and wheeled there (not many pictures), and then hit a local trail. I was shocked at how capable this thing was stock. I knew it would be good, but I didn't know it would be as good as it was. I don't foresee me needing anything more then a 2.5-3 inch lift to suit my needs.

Plans now are:
- 2.5 to 3 inch lift
- 4.56 gears
- 35s to 37s
- tube fenders
- Evo front and rear bumpers
- Evo sliders
- Evo skid plates
- eventually a PR44 front end

LOL.... My thoughts exactly when I purchased my 2016 JKUHR... I purchased a 94 Wrangler Sahara YJ back in december of 93 and still own it (at least until someone takes it off my hands)... And even with a bunch of mods on my 94, my 2016 JKUHR out performs it when it was stock... Now that it is modified it is, of course, even better.....

:)

Good to know, are rigid that much better than the knock offs?

I wouldn't say anything bad about the Rigid lights myself as I do not own any... But I can say that I purchased a set of Pandemics for my rear LOD bumper and have been pretty happy with them... I think the Pandemics while still a Chinese made knock off seem to work pretty well but once again it is only as a rear reverse light for when I am backing up or pissed off at those behind me :thumb: ... I couldn't justify spending 200+ for a set of Rigid Duallys as back up lights...

I have not heard anyone complaining about Rigid and I have always heard good things about JW...

But as for me, my facing lights I am using VisionX and have been extremely happy with them... Also, I would have to say that they have some of the best customer support for their product that I have come across... I also plan on buying their Light Cannons as soon as I save up some more coin... But that will come after much needed fenders and maybe an EVO cage...

Just my 2 cents....

Vision X I just think is WAY overpriced for what they are. 799 for their JK kit seems a bit ridiculous.

Originally I was planning on getting the Evo quarter ponder bumper, but I got offered a deal on a Poison Spyder front bumper that I really couldn't pass up. Originally I was skeptical of it, but I remembered that Eddie was running Poison Spyder rocker guards on Jane and was happy with them. So that made me confident enough to move forward.

Long story short a guy on a Facebook Georgia Jeep group owns a shop, who will remain nameless out of respect for the forum, Eddie, and the Wayalife vendors, and had a guy order this bumper then back out, so he was offering it up and cost! So all I have to do is get it powder coated and mounted up. Very soon a Warn winch will find its way on my front end also
