Right around 11’6” or so, I wanted to put the 2 door on there first since it’s slightly lighter than my JLU. But when I raised it to have the wheel centers right at eye level there was just about a foot from the hard top to the ceiling.

Here’s a few pics of the concrete process. Long story short, two 16” deep holes. The slab was cut 36”x36” then dug out underneath to about 48”x48”. 4” of pea gravel in the bottom then reinforced with rebar in the bottom 1/3 of the new concrete and mesh in the top 3”.

^^ a CJ7, I started a thread a couple years ago. I haven’t really had a chance to dive in yet. The last couple years have been hectic with the divorce and a couple moves. I have a few bills to pay off and then I want to pull the trigger on a drivetrain. After that, maybe things will pick up a bit on the project.
 
Wrapped up the wiring circuit for the lift. It’s on its own dedicated 30 amp breaker and I’m also adding additional outlets on a new 20amp circuit. I routed the pvc conduit along the door rail since it lined up almost perfectly with the lift motor. I may have the additional outlets wrapped up tomorrow or this weekend.

Any particular reason you used PVC instead of EMT?

I don’t have any experience with it or tools to bend it. I understand EMT to be a cleaner more professional install. I just didn’t feel a particular need to go that route. I did use THHN wire since Romex is not supposed to be used inside the conduit. Admittedly this is about at my comfort level for electrical work, any more complex and I’d have subbed it out.

Roger that. Just keep in mind it could come under scrutiny if you go to sell the place or something. If you used sch 80 and meet the support requirements you’d be good to go. But if I had a lift like that I wouldn’t plan on going anywhere. [emoji106]

Gotcha, understood. I knew it wasn’t 100% upto code (I’m guessing those splices or at least the “boxes” they’re in aren’t proper and also the housing undersized). If I were to move, I’d uninstall all of it along with the lift. I actually was going to run a more direct route from the breaker panel to the lift motor but wanted to be able to walk past the lift post without obstruction which is why I suspended that section of conduit.
