JL Radiator Fan connector melted (x2)

I have question for the JL crowd. My JK is running a JL fan for the hemi swap and it has chewed up two radiator fan connectors . The first time i replaced the fan and PWM controller harness. This time I de-pinned both connectors and spliced the wires for the fan harness together eliminating the plug. i suspect the plug doesn't have a great connection and over time it heats up and eventually melts the plug. Is this failure common ?

Not normal, is the fan running on high constantly? There should be fusible link in the power wire to help prevent this too. The SS fan uses the same connector and on the pentastar Jeeps we actually reuse the connector we just repin the signal wire to the GM side. I havent seen this happen on any of our builds. Are your battery connections tight? Also, check the grounds that run along the inside of the fender.

I run a 180 degree thermostat and it runs pretty cool for a hemi . the fan will turn on low at 192 and off at 186 ish . The fan cycles as needed, and it doesn't run constantly. That's why I suspect a poor connection within the connector. There is an inline 50 amp fuse from the battery , i did check all the connections to ensure everything is tight. its frustrating , the jeep has been super reliable . its my daily and i drive about 50 miles a day. this has been the only part that has been a problem . BUT since this has happened twice i think some further troubleshooting is needed. checking the amp draw on the fan and double verifying grounds and resistance readings.

I would listen to the two below.

This dude, certified GM mechanic.
too much resistance somewhere. resistance creates heat which will melt the plug. either the wires are too small or there is an issue with the fan requiring more current
This dude, literally motor swaps jeeps on the daily.
