Jeep GPS

I have a 2023 Jeep Gladiator and the GPS is horrible. I live in Las Vegas and when I lookup places (like Raiders stadium or the VA Hospital) the GPS cannot find these locations!! It does show my truck location when driving. I'm wondering if anyone else has issues with their GPS? Its so bad I just use my phone.

I called the company that does the GPS and support and theres an update coming in April for $149 ($99 if you wait 2 months) and then a newer update coming in NOV this year for $99. Im hoping the NOV update will have enough changes to warrant the purchase. BUT, the guy I spoke to also said Jeep is switching (not sure when) providers

IMO, all built-in nav systems are trash and I’d never pay to have it “updated”. Why not use apps you can get on your phone, such as google maps, apple maps, and I guess Waze?

I always prefer the GPS in a car or my laptop vs the cell phone because it's easier to see. Google maps got us lost last weekend on my phone because the truck GPS couldnt even find the location I was going to. The one factor I really like (when truck GPS works) is it tells you locations of gas stations and food on a trip.

I tried using the onboard navigation on the 2018 JLUR I bought brand new. I lived in Dallas at the time and it was out of date off the lot. Since then I have always used android auto or carplay with google maps/waze.

I even removed the nav icon off the shortcuts.

The Garmin Drive type GPSs (e.g. 7") work great, and are not difficult to mount in the Jeep. It useful to have a GPS which will work and navigate within a minute or three wherever it is turned on in North America.

I'm with the others on using apple/google maps. I don't even have a screen in my JK (cd player and clock stereo) and have never felt the need to get one and especially after getting a phone mount. Even if I did have a screen I don't think I'd ever use it and times I have I also found any car nav systems are terrible.
