Thanks guys!

Second test drive went well for the engine. Runs strong, everything seems to be working right.

The trans went into limp mode halfway through the second run. Probably have speed sensor issues, either again or still.

Jeep life, always something else to fix.

Getting things together for a shakedown run tomorrow.

Have to straighten out the skid plate, plus section it and re weld it so it clears the driveshaft yoke.

The triangle piece on the ground is what I took out, then bent the side in and welded it back together.

Next, I decided to modify my bumper a bit. I am tired of it hanging up on the approach to the big ledges. I realized that there is a ton of wasted space here, so I trimmed the fairlead bolts, trimmed the hoop gussets, and made room to slide the winch to the front of the tray. This will leave nearly 4" between the back of the winch and the grille.

Once I confirm the total, I will shorten the rear of the bumper, and chop the frame, moving it back nearly 4". Just prep work now, the chop will come later, but hopefully before the next big trip.

I swapped to a sport sway bar to allow space for this, and will cut the crash bar out at the same time. It's going to be a huge increase in my approach angle. 😁

Yeah, there’s all kinds of room there to push it back. It would definitely help on approach

You could have a party in that winch tray... Good luck on the shakedown run... That new motor has no idea what it got itself into.. lol

Shakedown run today, hit Gold Mountain, John Bull, and Holcomb Creek. Had a lot of fun, and better yet the Jeep did great.

Only a couple of small issues to deal with, ordinary Jeep things. Everything with the engine swap worked great.

Thanks to Fiend and his friend Kevin for rolling with me, and making sure I made it back.

I'm excited that it is working good👍👍
