Jabberjaw

Crawled underneath today to get a lay of the land. Seems to me there are some vulnerable hard lines and the oil pan could take a hit and leave you stranded.

I’ve put the EVO protek skid system on all of my JKUR’s. I don’t see that they make something similar for the JT. Looks like at least one company makes a full belly pan, but that seems like overkill to me.

Is anyone adding extra protection underneath these things?

Yup, it’s a legit concern. Been meaning to add some kind of protection on mine but so far, I haven’t had any issues without it. The hydraulic motor mounts complicate things but I’m sure that evo should have something out soon.

The engine sits on shocks not rubber?

Essentially, yes. Same is true of all new JL’s too or, from what I’ve seen.

Hmm. Fancy. Is there a noticeable difference in the vibrations between them? I’m sure that’s a loaded question between jk/ jl variations

Honestly, I can’t say that I notice any difference but I do know that Jeep did it for the auto stop start - so that people wouldn’t notice it as much.

Lots of mfg’s have used hydraulic mounts for years. GM still uses them on most of the smaller fwd SUV’s to help dampen the torque of the engine when accelerating.

Yeah, I don't spend much time under "newish" vehicles 🤣 Most of my experience with Engine mounts is replacing with performance style that makes them vibrate worse not better haha Its a cool detail if its functional and holds up.

Ok thanks. That answers it. I was curious if our seats still came with the flip down cup holder in the seat back or the floor cup holders. Thanks again!!
Now to think of a cup holder delete that looks factory. [emoji848]

Dang, you got all the cool stuff. Mine just has vents and window switches.

It's not a cup holder. It's a foot rest for the kids' dirty shoes. Never stays clean.

Hmm I wonder if I can order one. I’d rather a foot rest get muddy than a cup holder. It’s what I hated with the jk. The rear cup holders were constantly full of sand from the beach and the kid being a kid.
