Okay, I have a 2007 and that's probably whylol. Yea it may only affect certain years. Someone told me about it on the trail when I mentioned that I had replaced mine…something like this below is what I found.
Who knows for sure…

You just have to bypass two wires on the plug from what I understand.I had to do the same with mine. I can’t remember exactly what I did but it’s not hard.
I don't get a dam thing in the mail for this Jeep haha But I sure as hell get emails and letters on the JTLOL - REALLY??? Is that even possible???? I literally get postcards and letters ALL THE TIME telling me about the recall.
Well.....I clearly did not know this either. @LS JK was awesome and had my warranty replacement lying around hahaYea, I had mine replaced a few years back.
Also, @Disciple Off Road, there is a lifetime manufacturers warranty on JK clock springs. I didn’t know when I replaced mine, and paid a few hundred bucks at the dealership. Wish I had known.
"Applies to Certain" so maybe that OR I'm going to say Lauren tossed it thinking it was junk mail hahalol. Yea it may only affect certain years. Someone told me about it on the trail when I mentioned that I had replaced mine…something like this below is what I found.

No, Vienna snausages aren't for me........

Yup that’s the clock spring. Not a hard replacement to do yourself. This forum is awesome! I've had my JK for 10 years and I don't get recall notifications either! Good to know about the clockspring too.
I suspect mine is bad. My horn doesn't work and some of the controls on the steering wheel don't work either.
Hmm. I hadn't thought about doing it myself. Good to know. Thanks Disciple!Yup that’s the clock spring. Not a hard replacement to do yourself.
If the dealer has it in stock it took them less than an hour to swap mine out.Hmm. I hadn't thought about doing it myself. Good to know. Thanks Disciple!
I logged in to Mopar and found the extended warranty notice under my VIN. Although I'm not experiencing airbag light issues, I'm hopeful the dealership will replace for free since it's broke.
If not, I'll purchase the parts and replace it myself. I'm pretty handy with commercial HVAC systems so I like to think this should be a breeze
I believe all recalls follow the vehicle and not the owner so you should be good to go.So just to ask this question regarding the clockspring recall. Does this apply if you aren't the original owner of the jeep? Thus far mone is fine but I want to keep this in mind if it ever acts up.
