In-cab video of the Lion's Back.

Funny video but I hate his constant crying , ohh he's sooo crazy lol I guess we are all crazy then. Had to mute it halfway couldn't take him anymore.

That frantic breathing was the single biggest irritant for me.....come on you haven't ever been up a steep hill before going to moab?...are you trying to fight off the non-existent G forces of a max performance turn in a modern fighter aircraft?

For a nerdy 24 y/o, the guy should be cut some slack for all his whining and insanity diatribes. He did pull it off and that is some scary shit. Good job Irkle :thumb:

What an insane video...my heart pounding too but more from him vs lions back

I was breathing as heavily as he was but only because I couldn't stop laughing "I am NOT going to show my insurance company this video"

Forgive my ignorance, but is it really that bad? It seems just steep...seems plenty wide, rock hard (literally) surface, etc....I wheeled on horrifically loose terrain in Colorado, with a much bigger dropoff, and far narrower as well...seems like it's a challenge with an old vehicle, but on a modern one like a Wrangler, a Grand Cherokee, A RangeRover, etc, seems like the electronics will EASILY do it all....am I wrong?

This may have been on his mind

^^^ The original title of that video was, "Woman drives truck off cliff and blames husband."

I know that video well, but hill descent control should have no problem dealing with what I saw in the vid...it seems to me (judging solely on the video) it is much more of a mindscrew than anything else. Driving that heap of pigiron down that slope was probably not the best idea....it was obviously in poor working order.

agreed! it was definitely a mind screw... im not sure they had hill descent in TJ's

Isn't the "mind screw" the whole point. Walking a tight rope that's a foot off the ground is physically the same as walking a tight rope that's 60 feet off the ground. It's the consequence of a mistake/failure that ups the ante.

Im sure they didn't, I guess I was talking from a personal perspective...from the photos and videos I see, it doesn't look bad at all...at least not compared to some of the shelf roads I've driven on. I can imagine a forest wheeler/camper driving down a 50 degree slope would have a minor heart attack though. :D

Vid was pretty funny though.

Agreed. I remember the first time I went down a crazy slope in Colorado, and it was the first time I tried using HDC...puckers up your o ring....you literally have to place your trust (and life) in the hands of the Jeep...once you learn to let go, HDC (coupled with an auto) is almost like cheating. :D

We all know pics and video never do any hill proper justice. Unless you have seen Lions Back in person, it is easy to say 'that looks easy'
It is a mind screw. With a colorado or moab shelf road, you can always hug the inside a lil tighter. You can't do that with Lions back.
I heard talk a while back about it possible reopening? Any one else hear that?
Can you imagine doing a 28 point turn at the top with a jku? :)
