I guess it's the "Super Stocker" build

It does that pretty good depending on the angle of the sun. The family and I are about to head out for a few hours on some local forest roads. I'll take some pics for ya.

Lucky! I wish I could be out wheeling today. It's perfect weather here in Tejas.

I really only have one complaint and it has to do with the freedom panels. Since I work nights, it's a little chilly coming home. So I drive to work without the panels and install them before my 40 mile trek home at highway speeds when it's 40-50 degrees.

The issue is getting the grommets to line up so the screws go in on the sound bar. It's quite a wrestling match to accomplish that. Otherwise I do like the Spiderwebshade. I am so fair skinned I "moon burn"! Ha ha!

I realize some people don't like them because it kills the true open air experience.

I have a hard top and also the Spiderweb Shade. Had the shade on for several years and had the Jeep for 3 years now. The first time I took the hard top sound bar screws out I never put them back in. I have had no issue what so ever with them not being there. I have read many others not putting theirs back in either. Just my $0.02 worth.

On another note... Really like the 3rd row RH4x4 bar. I have the front of mine put in and love it. I might have to spend a little more money and get the 3rd. ?????? :idontknow:

Here are so pics of the gap I have. (The weather was great here too!)

Topless with my home brew tube doors and RH 3rd row bar. My wife and all four kids are in there, just hard to see. No major trails, just Forest Roads but fun nonetheless to get to a short hiking spot.

Yeah, when the back part of the hardtop is off it made me nervous not having at least one of the screws in, but I have heard the screws aren't really necessary all the time.

Love the 3rd row bar, especially now that it has color on it!

So a few updates...

1st the Rugged Ridge phone/GoPro mount... Last weekend on the washboard forest roads my iPhone fell out of it. On pavement it's great, off pavement not so much. I mean, the roads were not smooth but I expected the iPhone to stay put a little better.

2nd I had plans for the Warn M8000S & stinger. I even have the quote from Trail Jeeps. [emoji22] I wanted to get the 1/4 pounder too, but... After getting slammed with some unexpected bills and four leaking factory Rubi (take-off) shocks (discovered today while rotating tires), I'll have to put those goodies on hold. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35] I will go forward with making my own front bumper for now due to the lower cost and replacing the shocks with Rancho 5000's. My local Napa is price matching the shocks from online retailers so I'll hopefully have those swapped out next weekend. I'd love 9000's or Kings or coil overs , but again, priorities…

Bummed about not getting the winch/bumper/stinger, but life is funny that way. I'm looking forward to spending some more time with my welder though! [emoji16]

Sorry to hear about the Rubi shocks. I hear great things about the ranchos though! I'm jealous!

Well they do have about 30000 miles on them and I basically got them for free. My Napa store is doing all four 5000's for $185 with tax! They did have to order them so won't be until Wed or Thurs before I have them.

USMC, just wanted to say a hi and thanks for the info on teh 3rd row seat. Your thread was great inspiration and I just did my 3rd row this weekend. Teraflex brackets and the Hard Rock cage addition). Stoked with the extra seat, and working now on adding shoulder belt seats next :)

I like the extension idea, what material and source you used for it?

Thanks!

Gui

Glad it helped! I recently picked up a JK rear seat and those brackets too! So I'll be updating my 3rd row soon. Let me know what you figure out for seatbelts please. I am trying to decide the safest and most effective way to get that worked out while still looking good.

My sunshade extension is simple patio shade material, grommets and bungee balls all picked up from Lowe's. I made it so it would install under the spiderwebshade at the back. Let me know if you have more questions on that.

Thanks! I iam planning to install the lower seatbelt mount behind the back of the stock cage, and still deciding on the upper mount location, but planning to replicate the stock position ona 2 door in the rear. I am going to run rear 2door Jk belts.

it was actually pretty straight forward to install without needing to remove the hardtop :) I am going to wait on trimming the stock covers until I decide what to do cage wise (rock hard addition or full cage). Can you post a close up on how you did your cuts? looks very clean!

Makes sense on the belts. I got the seat from a coworker so his factory belts are available at no extra cost. I need to get those and see what my I can come up with. I'm just concerned there isn't much to mount to for the shoulder portion and getting it at the correct angle.

My padding cuts aren't as clean as they appear IMO, but I'll get some closeups for you. My wife is planning on making something to cover them with a nice, finished look. I'm just not sure when she can get to it though.

The first thing that comes to mind is doing something like this, but running the bar behind the 3rd row seat.

If I do that, I'll likely buy the collars from RH4x4 and fab it up myself.

I considered 4-point harnesses but from what I've read there isn't enough room behind the 3rd row to get a safe angle. Then again, I have have zero experience with harness belts.

Like I said, my opinion is that my cuts aren't that great, but here are the pics as promised...

I did do the X pattern as suggested by RH4x4. My razor was much sharper than I expected, so don't ever ask me to conduct surgery on anyone!

Some goodies arrived yesterday via brown Santa and I picked a few more up today. Pics and details to be posted, hopefully tomorrow...

So my shocks arrived on Thursday, but the wrong ones showed up. [emoji30]

The store inverted two numbers for the front and rear. The correct ones will be on the way next week. I'll hopefully have them installed by this time next weekend.

I picked up a 55 CF tank of C25 for my welder finally! I couldn't swing the O2/Acetylene yet, but excited to have cleaner mig welds now!

While I was at the local welding supply I asked about steel. Since I can't afford the cutting torch gases yet, I decided to get a 20' piece of 1/4"x6" to reduce cutoff wheel time. These pieces will be used to make my front bumper and I hope to start making templates next weekend.
