I couldn't stay jeepless

Picked the Jeep up today after having some exhaust hangers made up. All is running good excluding the cooling fan. The 4.88 gears are way too low so first gear is a waste. I also need to fix the Speedo. It's off about 12mph at 60.

What’s wrong with the fan, and which fan are you using?

I have a Camaro fan and it's not getting the pulse signal. I've been talking with Robbie and he is looking through my tune to see if he can find anything. He did say that fan is a little harder to get on the 07-08 network.
Your gears aren't too low, you just need bigger tires!😁😁
I'm all for than but bigger tires need bigger axles, and bigger axles need new wheels and the Jeep dilemma goes on and on.

It's been a while since I last updated this. I've done some small things over the past couple months. First thing, I don't think I ever posted up the engine bay all put together.

I put on some rigid backup lights based on somebody's experience here and I have to say they are pretty damn bright. I pulled the bumper and mounted the licence plate to the frame cross member so I had to get creative with the reverse light mounts.

I found a Rubicon sway bar on eBay and got a no limits actuator for it.

Spent a lot of time trying to decide where I wanted my shift switch. Then I started pulling panels and found really the only place that had enough room for it.

My old factory foam steering wheel was in pretty rough shape so I looked at the Jeep options and it was not just too expensive but it was insane what they want for a steering wheel that has no electronics in it. So I turned to searching the interwebs and found a leather wheel for a TP cruiser that was under $100. The color is not perfect but it doesn't disintegrate in my hand every time I drive so it's a step up.

Last week I got an EVO drag link flip kit and ditched the drop pitman arm and track bar drop bracket.

The worst part of the install was breaking my ratchet handle off and tearing up my hand.

I think that sums up any progress made. It's coming along but we got so much damn snow this year that Lord only knows when the trails will open.

Good updates. I honestly see a lot of rod bearings fail like that on the 3.8s. We've been lucky I guess. Got almost 200k on ours.

This guy had 35's and 4.88 gears trying to drive 75+mph. He said he was coming through Monument when it let go so I'm sure it was in 3rd at that speed and turning at least 5k rpm and it sounds like he did the trip almost daily. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Been busy today. Started with installing the D-ring mounts this morning.

While I was in the back I finally installed the bump stops that have sitting on the shelf for months.

Then spent the better part of the afternoon putting in front bump stops.

Now I think I'm finally ready to hit a trail.

Man, you’re Jeep’s come a long way. Looks great! Looks like you’ll have some time on your hands now that it’s finished. Now, come down to New Mexico and help me put an LS in mine lol.
