I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me...

I don't know if anyone else is getting these but I just got an email from Jeep and it was to provide me with a Vehicle Health Report on the new 392 JL Wrangler that Cindy and I just bought. What's really creepy is that they've clearly tapped into it's computer via satellite to gather the information that they got. I mean, there's no other way they could know how many miles on on the odometer or what the PSI of my tires are and I just verified as much. Check it out...

I don't ever recall getting reports like this in the past and I don't recall ever signing up or agreeing to having them Big Brother our Jeep in this way. In any case, I don't like it and if anyone knows how to turn this shit off, I'd be grateful if you could please let me know. Thanks!

I get them in my JT. I think they are tied to either the “My Mopar” or “Uconnect” apps. The latter allows you to start (or unlock) your vehicle from your phone but it is a subscription service. When it runs out, they want you to pay for the service. No thanks, I’ll just use my key fob. I’m so sick of these auto companies turning things like remote start into a pay service.

To answer your question though, I’m not sure how to turn it off

Such BS! I've been looking and can't find a way to opt out of this Big Brother shit. I get there are people who want it and that's great but to just force it on you like this is just wrong.

I think that it's just for the Rubicon models. I got them for my JLUR and when I was trying to trade it for the JTR the sales man was singing me up to get them for it. But I have never gotten one for the JT sport that I ended up getting

I'm glad I didn't load the Uconnect app or the Sirius radio svc on my new 392...

I get them on my 22 ram as well it’s a (free) service at purchase then it expires and the emails stop except those to get you to buy the subscription. They can track you at will disable your vehicle if they want run the report for warranty claims on and on .

I have always gotten these notices on my 2019 JL Rubicon.

The jeep comes with AT&T 4G. They want to sell this service to you as a hotspot. This is how the remote features work and how the Jeep sends telemetry back to corporate. This is why Uconnect Guardian is a farce.

The fun thing is when they send you a notice that your engine has a serious issue after you have just driven 450 miles across nowhere (while noticing nothing wrong) and will be driving another 500 miles across nowhere. The warnings is that the engine might seize and need to be towed or that it might just stop. This has happened to me three times already. Somehow nothing actually bad ever happened.

I got them as well. it bothered me for all the reasons already talked about. The emails stop once the uconnect service ends, but I'm sure they can still tap into it if anything comes up for a warranty claim. Not good for those of us that don't want big brother keeping tabs on us.

I don't recall which connection it is on the back of the head unit, but you can disconnect the antennae for the cell signal.

They can still read what's on there, but only when you get REALLY close to a tower.

Being that Lila is a cyber engineer this is a big reason we haven’t bought any new vehicles. A lot of this stuff is innocent enough (manufacturer based) that most people just disregard it but it is concerning. Very little in the way of protection from being hacked and manipulated. Keep us posted if you figure out a way to disable it.

You'd need to remove the broadband card from inside the radio head unit to disable Jeeps spyware. 🤪

Of course this would also disable forced over the air updates and would probably break other features of the uconnect system.
