How well do you inspect your jeep?

RDE2ROK, sorry to hear about what happened, and we are glad nothing bad happened. If you’ll private message us your address, we’ll send you a new set of studs and nuts for both sides. Please send us your steering arm and the broken studs; we want to inspect the studs to see what happened. We’ll also inspect the arm – if it is fine, we’ll send it back, or we will replace it if we see anything out of the ordinary. Also, in your PM, please give us your axle’s serial number, and where you bought it from. We stand behind our products as being the highest quality on the market. If a customer has a problem, we always want to make sure they’re taken care of as best as possible. Thanks!

Thanks Dynatrac. I haven't taken it apart yet but I will this weekend. I only have one of the broken studs but I will be in contact with you. :thumb:

Just so everyone is clear, I'm not blaming anyone and especially not Dynatrac. They are an awesome Company and all the people that work as you can see. I've met most of them and they go out of the way for their customers.
I just want to emphasize the importance of inspecting your jeep for Safety! Particularly when modded up for abuse on the rocks.

We appreciate that and thank you! Regardless, please contact as we asked before, we'd like to talk you about this.

This is scary.. Glad you caught it.

Some mechanics laugh at me because I'm a torque Nazi.

Great idea to push the idea of inspecting ones Jeep. At least pay someone to do it if you can not.

Thats why I'll be buying dynatrac when the time comes. A company that puts their customers first is important and many companies now a days will forget about you once they get your money.

Ah, got it. I must have glossed over the part were you were wanting to tie it into the knuckle for double sheer. If you're not concerned about how will effect your steering and ESP/BAS, it would certainly provide more strength. Me, I think I'll stick to just checking the torque on my bolts as a part of routine maintenance. After almost 150,000 miles and me playing at the mall, my steering arms are still holding up just fine.

Eddie, does the picture above your original quote with double sheer steer differently due to the track bar and drag link locations or is it just the way it is? To a non expert it looks stronger but I know that doesn't really mean it is

So I sent Dynatrac two broken studs as well as the high steer arm for inspection as requested. By the end of the week I had new studs, nuts, conical washers and my arm back. That is Top Notch Service! Thanks again Dynatrac.👍
