How are our TN jeepers doing?

Are these deliberate wildfires from assholes?

I hate the smokey mountains being burned like this... When I went to UTK, we'd take trip out into the smokey's. Beautiful place, I can't imagine the damage the fires are doing... Anyways, I have a couple friends in that area and in Knoxville that are offering up their spare rooms/ living rooms as a place to crash. If needed let me know.

Dang, hope you guys are doing ok over there. I can't believe some of the videos and pictures that are floating around..

There are a number of them that are deliberate. There was a group of people that started some in Chattanooga and last I heard they think the same ones started Gatlinburg. We had them here in Kingsport and into Virginia also. I think several have been started accidentally by cigs being thrown out.

Living in Townsend we are pretty close to the fires, crazy stuff. My wife and i packed our bug out bags just in case we have to leave. We could see the fires from our cabin night before last. There was also another fire burning in Walland TN a few weeks back. Thankfully that one is pretty much out. Keep all those in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in your thoughts.

One thing you may want to consider is seeing up a garden hose with some sort of sprinkler about the middle of your roof. If the fire gets to close then you can turn it on and keep the roof wet. Could mean the difference between having your cabin in good shape of the fire comes your way and having a smoldering pile of ruble.
