Bump!

We will be there but not sure about the Jeep yet. Still experiencing DW. Replacing BJs tonight but I am not convinced that is the issue. May be bringing the Mustang....AGAIN! Ugh.

Bummer! Didn't know you were having DW issues, hope you can get it lined out. Be sure to holler if you need any extra hands sorting it out.

I have plans the same day but will try to make it!

Hope you can make it, I'll put you down as a maybe. I'm sure we will be around for quite some time, and then even move on to another location knowing this group.:beer:

You should check your unit bearings as well. When i had my death wobble, both my ball joints AND UBs were toast.

No play/wobble was found when I checked the UBs. The passenger side is new, however. The reason I doubt the BJs is that although in the Death Wobble thread Eddie says that "any visible movement indicates a bad ball joint" it is such a small amount it looks like no more than the allotted amount. We'll see tonight. Can an unbalanced drive shaft cause it? I checked the track bar bushings and they appear fine. Everything is torqued correctly thus far.

Oddly enough. When i was having dw, i couldnt find out for the life of me what it was. I tried checking for visual play and everything with my eye. But nothing looked to be out of the ordinary. So i bought a dial indicator to measure the play. Sure enough, the ball joints and UB had more play than recommended.
Doesnt take much for it to start acting up. Hell ive also heard of loose control arms causing it. But thats not so likely to be the problem.

Edit: DS can cause a vibrate. But nothing from what i know of to cause DW. But luckily, if you think it is the DS. They arent so hard to remove/put back on. But i still highly doubt that would be it either. Just see how it goes with the change of the BJ's.

i think the reason why you dont see much play might be the same reason as mine. My upper BJs were fine. It was only my lower ones that were crapped out. Might be the same problem your having.

Looks like the Synergy BJs fixed the DW. I got up to the speed before that caused it and nothing. I don't have the SS on yet since I need to drill the bracket so I feel some bumps but no DW. JE REEL 1350 goes on tomorrow hopefully.

Glad to hear. Hope it's fixed. I've been having some DW for a few weeks now, and everything is tight. So I'm hoping like yours, that the BJs may fix it even though I don't see any play in them. They're coming with the new axle, so I'm hoping I can deal with it until that thing comes in.

Yea I wouldn't be buying new BJs either. Mine happened going relatively slow so I couldn't avoid highways if that is when it happened. I wanted to buy Prosteers and use them in my PR44 next year but I wasn't sure if the install, removal, install would damage anything (might be a ignorant/naive concern).
