Hot Springs ORV Park April 8-10

Some of the 5's aren't too much worse than a 4 and some of them are really really bad!! What I typically tell people is if you are going to get upset if you dent your jeep then i would stay off the level 5 trails. I don't want to dent mine but it wouldn't bother me if I did. Wouldn't even bother me if I turned it over. I bought it to wheel the crap outta it and it just so happens it gets me to work too. Hahaha!
 
I don't think my Rig is ready for the 5s yet but I do think the 4s are doable....I will try them anyway. I am sure if it is raining that will factor into play as well.

I have been watching videos and trying to get all the info I can. I am looking forward to hearing from Coop9779 after his trip this weekend.
 
Rain definitely plays a factor. I got stuck on some of them trails with it pouring down, and they went from moderate to hard real quick. But me personally, don't want to do anything to crazy cause I still have to make it back home
 
Are you familiar with the Trail they call Snake? I was watching some Vids on it and Rubicon Ridge. Snake looked like it wasn't too bad. Idk about the other....sometimes videos and pics don't do them justice.
 
Yes. Snake isn't bad at all. It starts off real easy but then there is a lot of climbing the rest of the way. The rock isn't real loose on that trail except for in one spot. But other than that it's a fun little trail. Not real technical. But you are absolutely right about the videos not doing justice. Some of them hills are no joke. Some of them are real steep and you just can't tell until you are actually there.
 
I don't remember if I've done that. I think I still have my map with everything outlined so I will look for it on there to see if I have done it or not

Sounds good. I have been looking for as much info as possible. Looks like this will be the first of many trips to Superlift. ...lol.
 
Rubicon ridge isn't bad at all if it's dry. There is a very steep and loose rock hill on the entrance next to baileys bolsters and if it's wet there is one steep red clay hill that can be slick. When I was there in November it was rutted pretty bad and rigs with smaller tires were dragging pretty bad.
 
It's a nice place for me to go to cause its not far. Plus it has a little bit of everything. Now I hope one day I can make it out west to ride some of the great trails that they have there. But until then I will be doing superlift.

Check it out this weekend if you can. I would like to run it if I am capable. I don't want to hold everyone up though...

Yes rain plays a huge role in the trail condition. You can basically bump up the level one notch! So a 3 is a 4 and a 4 is a 5 and so on.
This was the trail condition when I was there in November. It rained nonstop the whole weekend.

I don't think I've ever been there with this much water before. Even came in the floor at one point.

I'll look at rubicon. You should be able to run it without a problem. Even if it's wet the one hill is the only place you might get hung up and if you do we'll get you up it so don't worry about it. There are several fun trails out there that we can all ride and have a blast on.
 
I am pumped! After your weekend it will be worse. I might have a lift installed by April. A CB is my next addition then the lift.

I don't want to trash my Rig but I do want to use it. Getting out of the Comfort Zone is the excitement for me.

I am looking forward to hear about your weekend. A lot of time when there has been a lot of rain it carves some pretty deep ruts. We have that red clay here and it is slick....especially on an incline. I would like to run ATs but I have to have MTs just to get home at times....and they will ball up with clay. I don't know how many times I have thought "I will just stay out of the ruts" slip, slide, thunk! High Centered! Usually it is just me to get out though......

I had it rain on me like that last time I was there in May. But I still think yours was worse. I got stuck out there at the bottom of some of them hills and was thinking I might not make it up them with all the water coming down over the rocks ha.
Now the power wagon is a place that I can barely make it up when it's dry and I didn't stand a chance the last time it rained
 
Power wagon is where my carpet got wet and didn't make it up the steep hill. I'm locked front and rear but it was just super slick. We ended up backing down. If it hadn't been raining I would have winched up but I didn't feel like getting wet.
