My build started 2 years ago. I never had a goal in mind when I first started so went back and forth trying different set ups. I started with a base model 2DR Gecko JK with air and an auto trans.
It went into the shop the night I picked it up. I installed a rock krawler 2.5" max travel, 37s, and a front bumper that I had from my 4dr
The first wheeling trip I was not happy with the ride of the Rock Krawler springs in the 2dr. They were really nice in the 4dr.
I sold the RK springs and went with 18/59 springs the ride was about the same with the bilstein shocks.
I then sold the bilstein shocks. Measured out the longest shocks I could run and bought a cheap set to see how it would perform they are 12.8" travel. I also ordered currie upper and lower spring retainers, bump stops, nemesis front shock relocation brackets
There was a parade local and they asked if I wanted to be in it. So I called my buddy and asked if I could borrow his 40s that was a mistake cause all I wanted was 40s after that. I added a couple things to clear the tires 2" front spacers to level it out, 1.25" body lift, and bump stops.
I plasti dipped the grill orange because it was a St Patrick's day parade
While I had the tires I went to my other buddy's who has a nice piece of property. Remember in these pictures I'm still running 18/59 springs.
To be continued a lot has happened since these pictures were taking.
