I didn't take the seats apart- I have aftermarket seat covers. I installed the heating elements inside the aftermarket cover, and then put the cover back on the seats. Takes 5 minutes per seat :thumb:
i didnt remove them. What i did was rmove the seat from the jeep, and take the back part of the seat off the bottom part.
I dont know what the proper name is but there is a long plastic "channel type clip" that runs the width of the seat - on both the seat part, and the back part. I just undid that and pushed the heating pad in under the upholstery. If it has adhesive strips along the sides of the pad, do not remove the paper backing until the pad is in place.
lay the heating pad on top of the seat first and trim. I did not have to trim the back piece, just the seat piece.
i did not take off the staples along the seam about 4 inches in from the front of the seat, i was worried about getting the upholstery on tight so i cut it off there.
