Maybe the exhaust is grounding out on the cross member?

Here are some pics I just took. Exhaust looks to have ample clearance at all points and when it hit it, it doesn't move. Mounted solidly.

No. My wife didn't notice it. Once I pointed it out, now she hears it.

Those are indeed tricky to find. Again, if needed you can borrow my chassis ears, you're welcome to, saves a lot of time finding these kinds of noises.

What are chassis ears?

Wireless transmitters with microphones and labeled with numbers. You hook them on to various items under the vehicle. Then you have a receiver in the vehicle with you that has a speaker. When the noise occurs you can click on the sensor number on the receiver and hear the noise through the speaker. Whichever noise is loudest, that's where the problem is.

So if you put one on each gear box and had a noise, you can select which gearbox to listen to while you drive. Extremely helpful for finding noises like this. You could actually put 3 sensors in different spots on a pumpkin to find out which bearing is noisy. They can get really close to the source.
