Granite Rubicon Build

Figured I'd post a pic of the tires when I picked them up (minus 1 that was back ordered). Still on track to have things done by October :)

After selling some stuff to my buddy to fast track his build...I ordered a bunch of replacements and a truck load of other parts. The UPS guy is going to hate me next Tuesday and Wednesday! But it's always nice when your email inbox looks like this

And the most important piece :)

Finally started painting stuff and preparing to install. Finished the rings tonight. Painting the sliders and skins tomorrow. Installing the winch, JW Speaker headlights/fogs, and hopefully rear axle shafts and front/rear drive shafts this weekend. I'm also building a 521" BBF engine along with my build so time is an issue.

Partial parts pile :)

Looking good!

Thanks!

Only had time tonight to primer the sliders. After I did that I quickly installed the JWS fog lights. Amazing how much light they put out! They over power the head lights.

Shitty pic with the florescent glare...but factory fog on the left.

Sweet build. FYI, getting that rope in the winch pocket on the drum is a pain. The videos make it look super easy, get several zipties, you will probably break the provided one. I would recommend a water-based lubricant for the end of the rope.

Thanks. The last few I've done I ran into zero issues? If I do I'll definitely keep the lubricant idea in mind.

Nice job on the wheels!

Thanks. I'm really pleased with how they turned out!! :D Pictures don't do them justice.

Have you done the Zeon before? If so, then sounds like you've got it handled. If not, I was just giving you a heads up. Me and a buddy were having a hell of a time with it, then I went on youtube to watch videos afterward, and many commenters said the same thing.

Either way, good luck.

Ya, I've spooled 2 Zeon's now. One 10-S and then a Zeon 12 for my buddies D-max. He changed the cable out for Master Pull Superline XD. The 12 gave us a little hassle, but used paracord instead of the zip tie. Until you mentioned it, I never thought twice about having an issue LOL! I'll make sure to have some stuff ready this weekend. Thanks for the heads up, though :thumb:

Just picked up the headlight adjustment screws for horizontal adjustment at lunch. Unfortunately, I have to work on another project this evening so the Jeep stays how it is another day

Getting some things done!!

Real happy with the headlights and fogs. Slight mishap with the plastic head light ring/bucket. I'll post some pics when I pull everything back apart. But for now I'm loving them! Tonight I installed the rear shafts and winch. I bent a flange awhile back at a local off road park (Bundy Hill) and my brakes were squealing horribly. So happy to have quiet brakes again!!

Sucks working on the ground when you have a hoist right behind you! Too many projects going on...

Tonight I finished the front and rear 1350 drive shafts, EVO skids, and moved the evap over. Forgot to get a picture of the rear all done.

Another long day. All in all, a productive weekend. Today, while not Jeep related, I pulled the engine from my other project. Then went to the other shop, mounted a few tires, and did some priming. Paint tomorrow.

The granite rings on the Slabs looks awesome! Your build looks very similar to mine, you're just moving a lot faster than I have. Can't wait to see the next update. :thumb:
