Gladys

Thanks guys, here’s some pictures of it sitting a bit lower. It feels like it actually might happen. Talked with the body shop about paint and they’ve no openings for about 6 weeks. Don’t like leaving the shop till it’s done, but if it rolls, we’re going.
Took the ride height down about 1 inch. According to some pictures I posted a couple pages back, this height should be about stock for the rear. I’m probably going to run it at this height to see how it rides, and make certain it doesn’t bottom out. Right now it’s around 4 3/4 of up travel. A couple pictures show it bottomed, then at ride height. You might notice I had to cut all of the bed off that protrudes forward of the box. When I cut the tower pockets, it’s now required to drop the bed straight down to install. The fenders are made of .120 aluminum, the mounts are made from 3/16 steel, so there’s no worries of them flexing or needing any help from the bed.

It moves under it own power now. I was beginning to think it was welded to the jack stands. Power steering still has an issue with the new box that PSC sent. Hopefully they’ll hang in there. Rolled it out of the shop to flex it and I have to much pressure in the lowers on the front. Wasn’t able to bottom out the front corners. Rear looked good so I’ll leave it there till I get some highway miles on it. Sliders all buttoned up and ready for powder. In the picture before I bent them you can see how much boat side there is in the JTs. Over twice as much as the JK. Only thing let to fabricate is the rear bumper. Hopefully done with that tomorrow.

Cool build! So what's the story behind your profile pic? Seems like pulling and farming go hand and hand.
I’d bet there’s more farmers in the sport than anything. In the Midwest all the big farms are dry land so there’s only three jobs, plant, spray, and harvest. The other 9 months you go pulling. Smoker tractors are thick there and that is where you’ll see the rivalry between green and red. I’ve always been a four wheel drive nut so we went into the Modified 4WD class in ‘88. Haven’t pulled the last couple of years because of waiting for the motor and the builder, Steve Schmidt ended up dying. Might be nearing the end for me.

We were successful at getting the last batch back from powder, the sliders and a couple of brackets. This is the same design I put on the JK and it held up well.
