Gear ratio for 35s and 37s

JK gears are specific to a JK.

Ok I only ask because I see some that say reverse rotation and some don't say that and other say thick cut , just don't want to tear it apart to find out u ordered the wrong ones

What kind of gears do you guys like cuz I see high performance I see thick cut and also how do I know if I have reverse rotation or standard rotation ?

High Pinion= Reverse Cut gears. Rubicon has HP44= reverse cut. The Dana 30 in all other JK's is also High Pinion, HP30, also reverse cut. not sure why companies are listing reverse cut and standard cut as an option for JK's :doh:

Thick gears are so you can use the same carrier you have now, not sure the transition point, as to how low of gearing you can go with thick cut, and keeping the stock carrier, maybe someone else can chime in on that

Yea the 373s suck with an auto and 35s IMO , unless u don't live around any hills

Yeah I'm a Vegas guy but I really have no issues.... I notice people complaining about about jeeps being sluggish, slow, & gas hogs but I didn't buy this vehicle to blow people off the road. My mustang's for that, I bought the jeep to have the ability to run them over hahah!
I just watch my rpm's and cruise!

Just ordered my 513 gear kit from northridge , can't wait to get these babies in and I will post pics of the install on my build thread. Ill let everyone know how they are and maybe make a YouTube video cuz I Cudnt find anything on YouTube

Yeah it sucks having a auto and driving it like a Manuel tranny but hell maybe give it a try. I've come to enjoy it

Are you installing these yourself?
 
Just my $0.02, but im running 35s with 4:10 gears and aev procal. I did notice a little slower response in the gas petal.
Overall power is still good. Im not doubting your issues. I drive in the rockies and im not going to regear till 37s. I shift on inclines at around 3500 RPMS. Its a little slower but I find the difference to be minimal.

That's great that you can do this! It is a difficult job for most people to do themselves.

Yea Ive been working on cars and trucks since I was a kid with my father. And it helps to have a buddy who's been doing this his whole life to help. Saves me a lot of money being able to instal all my mods myself.

I am torn between choosing 4.88s or 5.13s for my rig - 2008 JK Rubi with manual trans and 35" bfg km2s ....
