Nothing necessarily planned out right this minute. Depends if we get a JT or not. Or I’ll stretch the door and put a 60 back there.

This thread is so confusing. Fusion/Dynatrac/Lite brite really hard to gather my thots.
Whatever it is it’s working for her. Dynatrac axles and a 6.4 Hemi. The list goes on. Sad testament to our social media # society.

I don’t get the fusion 44/60 hybrid. It has a 60 center section with 44 outer. So we reduce ground clearance, limit up travel and still have the shitty jk ball joints and unit bearings, so we can only run 37s. Makes no sense to me. I would rather have 44 center (It’s more than strong enough for 37s) and put 60 outer on it. Like Mel did with Vengeance. He was running 40s. Maybe I’m missing something.

For me, the 60 center section let me confidently run 5.38 gears. The smaller Dana 44 gears can be dicey with 5.38's.
You're right that the 60 center reduces ground clearance, but I don't think it's totally fair to say it limits up travel. For most people, I'd expect that the amount of bump stop will be determined by things like tire clearance and lift height (to avoid over-compressing the coils). I didn't have any issue when I installed my D60/44.
The ball joints can be had in Rare Parts and Dynatrac varieties, both of which should hold up much better than the stock units. Unit bearings... yeah, you're definitely stuck with itty-bitty D44 units (or slightly larger and hard to find J8 ones).
In general, I agree that 37's is as big as the D44 outers can handle. If 40's are the goal, then full 1-tons will definitely be better.
Question though: if you keep the D44 center but use D60 outers, are you stuck with D44 axleshafts or can you get some really meaty shafts? (not a Lite Brite joke, promise)
I couldn’t find it. Arrcherr can you post a link?
(yes I’m trying to get you in trouble—evil laugh, you should’ve quit smoking when I did [emoji867][emoji38])
