From NY to Moab East coast pilgrimage to Moab 2014

Today we left South Dakota and drove and drove and drove with nothing in sight but open fields which turned into nothing but corn fields.

Finally we made it to Minnesota but just before the border we spotted this sign.

I don't get why everyone is looking all over the place when he is clearly right here lol

Next stop after the hotel was to the Mall of America and it bigger then words can describe.
Had to stop at the giant LEGO store

Outside the store are these giant pictures all made of LEGO's of course
Individual 1x1 pieces which makes it even crazier.

And of course the wall of LEGO pieces

This store has a 34ft robot made entirely of LEGO's

They also have a bunch of other extremely large LEGO creatures


Growing up with LEGO's no way I wasn't getting something and when I approached the Star Wars section it made my decision that much easier lol

Also growing up a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan I was loving this ride and display for the upcoming movie


I'm heading into the sewers

And I haven't even scratched the surface of this place!! Tomorrow I will most likely get lost but who cares.

Such an amazing trip! In 2006 I took the family from MA to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We stopped along the way at a lot of the places you stopped at. Checking out these pictures in like a walk down memory lane

It's really somethung everyone should do once but no we didn't get to see Devils Tower we r starting to run low on time and needed to start heading east.

I totally agree! There is so much to see in this country. I've see so much of this country and there are so many places I've seen and would love to visit again. Nevermind all the places I haven't seen yet... lol

It's so true. Nowadays people all want to leave the country nobody realizes how much there is to see right here is the USA

Decided to check out the Aquarium at the Mall of America and it was surprisingly good.

This mall really has almost everything.
Saw some pretty big sharks and these two spider crabs that blew my mind.




Saw some sea horses and lots of other sea creatures even an alligator gar.

Tomorrow it's off to a Brewers game then to Chicago. After that up to Drummond Island for the last wheeling of the trip.

Seems like months since I was in Moab lol it's been about 3 weeks I think since Moab maybe more.

We moved on once again and this time we stopped in Milwaukee Wisconsin

We lucked out and the Brewers were in town so we decided to go watch them play the San Francisco Giants.

Great game and short stay in Milwaukee but we were on the move once again to Chicago Illinois.

Took a small detour to go see Wrigley Field. To bad they are on the road but at least we got to take a tour of the stadium.

This scoreboard only has room for 24 teams and since the MLB now has 30(if I'm correct) they don't have room to display all the scores. Since the stadium is considered a historical landmark it can't be updated be changed.
The green ivy turn brown for the winter then usually greens up by the first month of the season

Standing behind the batters eye on center field. Wrigley was the first stadium to have a "batters eye" every stadium has them now. For those who don't know in every MLB stadium in centerfield part of the seats are blocked off or removed and painted black so that the hitter can pick up the white baseball better due to the black back drop. Back in the 30s or 40s Cubs fans figured this out and wud wear white shirts under black jackets and when the visiting team was at bat they wud take off the black jackets and the batters couldn't see the white ball and when the cubs came to bat they wud put on the black jackets back on. Well MLB caught on to this and that's when all stadiums were required to block off these sections of seats to help the batters pick up the 90+ MPH baseballs coming towards them.

After they we moved on to the a visiting clubhouse , which seems as if it hasn't been changed much in 100 years ... I think it's be design!!
The list of the all time great players that have graced this locker room is to long to list. From MLB all time greats to NFL legends from when the Bears played here to the NHL players from the Winter Classic game. This stadium has so much history and is truly amazing to see in person.

We lucked out and got to walk out on to the field but sadly were instructed not to take any grass or dirt ... Damn it lol

Great tour and well worth the stop.
On the move once again we hustled to get to Lansing Michigan that night.

The next morning we started our drive up through Michigan to get closer to Drummond Island. Crossing over Lake Huron

Drummond Island tomorrow for the last wheeling of the epic adventure.
