Evo Rock Star Skids

If am not mistaken you measure an 1.5" down form the center of the CA bolt hole and cut around square. So you would just cut most of that off

Yes, I made the switch you are asking about. My regular statement of, "I'm not a welder...I'm a grinder", may have been a contributing factor in my situation. [emoji23] Anyway, the pass side skid was ripped off on a trail and damaged the lca mount in this case.

The driver side with the skid still welded in place was easier to swap than the damaged side. Even after cutting the pass side, it took a lot of BFH convincing to get the pass side lca mount straight enough for the Rockstar to slide over.

Wow!! Nice job on ripping that skid off! I never thought about that. I had my welder cranked up pretty high when I did mine. The skids are slowly getting nicely rounded off on the edges, but seem to be stuck on pretty good still. It looks like the welds on yours could have maybe used a little more amperage? Not ddays but running that same set up. Yes it's very doable. You lose a bit of uptravel but is a good set up.

If you always pack heavy you can add a 3/4 spacer to gain a little back, but you'll be ass high as a daily.
 
^^ JAGS already answered but for anyone else considering this combo, yes, absolutely they will but make sure you are running the right combination of spring and shock or you may have some minor issues. I ordered the Kings from Off Road Evolution and they are a different spec than the off the shelf version. They are made to run with their 4" plush ride coils so they don't drop out of the coil buckets in the rear. Pretty sure JAGS is running these springs? I was running RK 3.5" coils and I really wasn't happy with the up-travel I had - 3.5" of shaft showing really didn't seem correct to me plus my coils were loose under full flex. I was going to order the 4" plush ride coils but pretty much everyone says they sag with a lot of gear in the back. I'm already heavy in the ass so I shopped around and found Currie makes a 4" spring that's 1" taller than normal but still only yields a 4" lift. Seems like the perfect combo to me so far. The Kings are great riding on and off road and the Currie springs ride way better than my RK's did.

The cylinder cleared the mount just fine. I had to spread one of them a little to fit the shock eye in it, but the other went in with no problem.

I think that mostly depends on how much actual shock travel you have and how much bump stop you’re willing to run. I don’t run the rock stars but I do have weld on lower shock skids/relocation brackets for my shocks and I had the ability to move mine up about 2”. That being said I have my bump stops set for where there’s still about 3/4 of shock shaft at full bump. Some folks like to run less bump to get max up travel in which case they likely have to move things at the upper mount.
