I agree, they can fill a niche and compliment ICE vehicles but mandating only EV is retarded. Also, seeing headlines about California and some other states banning RV's over 8,500 lbs GVWR beginning in 2025 unless they produce zero emissions.

EV is faster thanks to technology and if speed were the only thing that mattered and we could all drive Zero - balls to the wall all the time, sure.

But nothing beats the sound and feel of a growling ICE anywhere, at any speed (y)

Like others have said, it's another choice and don't force me into it; my tax dollars shouldn't be used to prop up profits for an option not many want.

I'll never ever forget watching top fuel at the TX Motorplex. Truly mind altering... although I fear that the EV's are even coming for those monsters. Someday soon, nitro top fuel cars will be relegated to side show status alongside jet cars and school busses that do wheelies. NHRA rules will hold it off for awhile but it seems almost inevitable. Will be sad indeed... :cry:

My bet is they're coming for F1 first... but they already ruined the audio experience with those cars anyway. They sound like ass now.

I think thats NEVER gonna happen. Ford had a demo Mustang at the Summit Nats a few years back and it was the gayest thing ever. Fast as stink but boring as shit. Drag racing is as much sight, sound, and trying to not blow up as it is the speed. As you know, there's nothing that's even close to a nitro car.

I agree but I'm worried the whole thing is just going to slowly fade into obscurity without some sort of interested sponsor. Top fuel cost per run is crazy...

Or, maybe it'll be even more of a comparative spectacle when everyone is tooling around in silence. Here's hoping anyway.
 
The union says the delay of the plug-in 4XE Gladiator is the reason sales are down... hmmm :unsure: so an electric version is what will save the Gladiator? I must be out of touch, I didn't realize the demand for electric vehicles was this great.

Those were incredible sounding. It’s a pretty amazing feat of engineering to make a V6 spin at the same RPMs and not explode.

BTW, F1 already had an electric series a couple of years ago. It was terrible! I don’t know if it’s still in existence as I quit F1 because they went super woke with BLM and the gay movement.

Have been an F1 fan for many years. Fascinated with the engineering, the rest is trash. My wife and daughters took an interest and it’s cool to me to hear them talk about tire compounds and pit strategies! Zero interest in Formula E.
