Does anybody have 35s on ATX slabs?

Why are you putting the tpms on your Slabs? The whole purpose of beadlocks is to air way down when wheeling. Unless you disable the tpms every time you wheel it's going to throw a light every time you air down. I also suggest getting balancing beads like dyna beads. I have them in my Slabs with 37" toyos and they work wonderfully. You will get dirt and water held inside the beadlock ring and mud and what not caked on your tires. I have yet to feel any unbalanced tire as the balance beads Re balance every time you stop and start moving again.

Thanks for pointing that issue out. Totally overlooked it. So you are saying that I should leave out the TPMS sensors and disable TPMS using a ProCal so I don't get any warning lights/sounds? Are you also saying that I don't need to get the Slabs/tires balanced by Discount Tire, just use Dyna Beads? I understand what you are saying about wheeling and getting dirt, mud etc behind the beadlock ring which will cause imbalance but will the wheels/tires run without vibration at 75mph on the freeway when clean, without being road force balanced, just DynaBeads? Never had beadlocks before and don't know anybody who has them so this stuff is all new to me.

I'd skip the tpms. Get a procal or other turner to turn of the warning light. I (and many others) have been able to run Slabs and Nittos without balancing them, or running beads of any sort.

Good luck!

I have had two sets of slabs. One was on a set of 35" trail grapplers with dyna beads. The dyna beads worked well but I have the currie deflator that pulls the core out. A few times the (larger off road beads) dyna beads would get stuck in the stem when I would pull the core out.

My new set of slabs have 40" toyo open country that I never bothered balancing. I've had this set on longer then my 35" set and they have given me no problems without balancing.

I have the EVO tire carrier as well, I can post pictures of the tire carrier with the 35's and 40's if u need to take a look still. Just let me know and I'll dig the pics out once I'm at home. The 35's did look small on the carrier.

Thanks, I hate to put you to the trouble but I would really like pics of the EVO tire carrier with the 35's if you can find them easy. I know 35's look small to guys with 37's or, especially, 40's but this is my first Jeep and my Toyo ATII 35's still look pretty big to me. :)

Do you have Dyna Beads in the 40's too? Glad to hear nobody seems to be having balancing problems with Slabs and big Toyo tires.

I was only able to find two of the older pics. No I do not use the Dyna Beads now, it bothered me when the beads got stuck in the air valve stems. If you plan on using Stauns or something, they make work for you but I didn't like them with the Currie Deflator that pulls out the valve stem core.

I can add pics of 40s to compare as well.

Thanks. Those pics are perfect and the 35's look terrific to me. Plus I am definitely ordering a Trek Top as well, the combination of the Slabs, EVO carrier and Trek Top is exact look I want. I am now firmly hooked on the EVO carrier my only worry being whether I can install it myself. I am good with tools but never installed skins, rivnuts or a project like a big tire carrier, plus drilling holes in my new Jeep is a little intimidating. I cannot find a write up or any YouTube videos on the install process so I need more research time. Don't want to order the carrier and skins until I am certain I can handle the install.

If you did the install of your carrier can you give me any pointers?

Cool. I was wondering what the EVO rack was looking with a 35... Thx for the pics.

Yeah, Vudoo's sexy sahara tan JK makes every aftermarket part look good :tumb: :yup:

Also I would like to add that keeping the stock rear bumper(or aftermarket as well) helps make the carrier and 35" tire combo look a lot better than running d-rings or bumperless IMHO. To me it helps fill the gap that a 37 or 40 would occupy.

It's actually not that bad of an install. Make sure you have quality drill bits & a quality nutsert tool.
