My 94 year old great uncle gave me a vise so I made this for the Jeep

It just clears the spare.
It can be flipped to make a flat surface to pound on and there is still an 1 1/4" receiver for the bike rack

Nah, only fab'd 90degree brackets with a 1" angle flat bar. For the pins i used lincoln navigator hood strut pins, only had to trim the top one a bit so the ball fit in the top mount. I inspires my kit from the one made by teraflex, fab'd brackets to fit between the hood sheet metals so i can screw the 90 degree bracket on it

Very easy install, only gotta be VERY carefull when drilling in the hood.

Those look great !! Fantastic job

YOU ARE MY HERO... I would LOVE to make my own bumpers and tire carrier. What kind of steel did you use?

Thanks

Here is my latest. Given the wonderful unibody on my xj, my gear box decided to start cracking my frame right in front of my trac bar mount. Time to unf*** that situation.

Made some rough templates and cut these out of some 1/8 plate I had sitting around.

Got the inner on, took some trimming, clamping and massaging but they are in and the outters will be pretty straight forward when the suspension gets dismantled.

This is probably sufficient and the peers probably won't be needed, but what fun is that?

I have been slowly building my rear bumper and now I need to figure out how I want to make my tire carrier.

Not saying this is how you should do yours, but this hinge type worked well for me.. These pics kinda show whats going on.. Basically just sitting on that platform with a 1/2" hole drilled through both ends... It pivots either way, and was super easy to fab... Again, not saying it's the best, but it works for me.. Ps. You shoul totally make your bumper an air tank!! Mine works great!

I am now having issues with my ORO 3rd brake light so I decided to build my own and will weld it to my genright tire carrier.

So if I have a burnt light I will be able to replace it.

still need to work on the white light plate, need to weld the box first.

Brother and I welded up my sliders. same kind of tubing EVO uses to make theirs, mine definitely are not as strong as theirs but they can and have taken a major beating and held up perfectly fine.

Made up some home depot special grill inserts using gutter guard and ty-wraps. Very pleased with the results. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1391522692.156895.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1391522704.368806.jpg
