LOL - That is awesome 👍🏻

Once you get out of the Pop Culture section of this museum it’s pretty good and there is a great display on how important the Jeep was to the WW2 war effort.

I wonder if I could get that rear full float axle off and successfully escape?

It’s even leaking in a couple of places! 🤣

There was also a section that had steam engines and early gas and diesel engines.

There was also this, a gunpowder engine!! That has explosion written all over it!

These next pictures are from a display on how important the automobile is to American Culture and how much it played a part in our nation’s development.

Glad I have a Warn Zeon and not this!

But they had Grover and the Cookie Monster!IMG_8145.jpeg

To finish the day off we stopped at Old Ebbitt Grill for a nightcap. This is Washington's oldest saloon and was originally founded in 1856. It has existed in several locations and is currently located in a cool building on the corner of 15th NW and G st NW.

On the left is a Venetian Frost made with:

Thanks for sharing these. I love DC and all the history. So many museums and monuments it’s really something everyone should experience though I do hate driving in DC and would recommend using the metro even with its flaws. Park in Northern Va and take the metro pretty much every time I have to go there anymore.

Well it’s been a great couple of days but it’s time to head back to the Virginia countryside so I can get some work done around the house. However there is one last stop- The DC Costco! District liquor laws are different than Virginia’s so Costco can sell booze in DC. In addition to the availability of booze the ethnic diversity in DC along with all the diplomatic missions located there means they often have items that other locations do not.

We arrived at 0900 so it was not crowded.

The expensive stuff.

I’ve been meaning to try this.

Nice that they already had everything on pallets for the forklift to load up your jeep.
