Death Wobble

Whats the purpose of getting new bearing hubs? My Jeep has 1500 miles on the clock, will I notice anything, is it safer from breakage? Just curious if it's an upgrade worth doing.

i did mine due to breaking a bolt off and i heated it up a ton to try and get the bolt out. i felt it was not a good idea to heat it up that much so got a new one! no sure if you were asking him or both of us so yaa lol!

Took it in this morning and there was no issues with the ball joints or anything else they could find. I asked him to check the track bar bolt but he couldn't get his torque wrench in there. He took a breaker bar and was able to tighten it a bit. Seems to have helped things. They did mention as well that the steering stabilizer was leaking. I'm guessing I should probably do the bolt upgrade and get a new stabilizer.

I should also mention that yes it's an 07 but it has only 50,000 kms or 30,000 miles

the bolt upgrade isnt needed. if your properly torqued down to 125 ft/lbs you will be ok. now if your trac bar bolt hole is ovaled out you can have a washer welded on to make the hole perfectly centered again. this is what i had done to mine last year.

I bought a cheap set of sockets on sale at princess auto and cut a 1/4" off with my angle grinder.

Just an update. Turns out I got what I paid for with my free Speedy front end inspection. Took it to the Jeep Doctor today and was shown I had significant movement in the lower ball joints and need new axle u-joints. My front stabilizer was also toast. I got a new skyjacker stabilizer and it's helped tons. Gotta make my appt. to get the rest fixed.

I thought I had major DW issue recently when I got a pretty bad wobble. I knew from reading other posts to start looking at my tires being out of balance and maybe an alignment issue.

I did this first and found that all four of my tires had lost at least 1 oz of tire weights and were out of balance. Go figure I got that issue taken care of and what a difference. With off roading and rough roads here I know now to balance my tires 3 to 4 times a year. Just something to think about so my DW was a simple fix, won't always be the case but make sure to look at that first.....Fyi
