dcbjk Build Thread and Picture Diary

I used to have the cobra 75 and I really liked it. When your not using it you just unscrew it and store it so it doesn't get stolen. The only reason I got rid of it was because I wanted a full size cb

That's why I'm debating on buying it. I don't use them often. Right now when I go wheeling I just take my handheld radio that I keep in my ditch bag on my boat. It works but I'd like a little more.

Have you had a chance to use your new cb? I'm debating on buying the same one. I'd appreciate your opinion.

So far I havnt really had a chance to use yet first impressions of turning it on and such was good I liked how compact it is and what could hear from listening to truckers it sounded good too

I will admit that when it comes to tuning the cb you have more options on the full size than you do on the all in hand which only has one tuning knob

I actually have the full size cobra 75wx and the all in hand one I went compact for the Jeep but kept the full size in case I ever wanted to switch out every once in awhile

So I decided to update D-Days progress do I completed and installed my DIY Grab handles and they look awesome

I enjoyed learning how to do the cobra weave I love making these prolly make some door limiting straps before I'm done but all in all really cool

Today is also a sad day as I begin the process of looking for another Job in the state of NC
For now I'll be working on my dads produce farm where my job experience first started and I'm in good spirits as I know when one door closes another opens
I've been working on this farm for 7 years and it will always provide

Going to the dealership in Raleigh where I bought D-Day since I found out at 2500 miles that one of my lock nuts was overtorqued and seized up and wheel not come loose so tight that it broke my lock socket so dealership has some explaining to do since this was the first maintenance done since I bought D-Day hopefully all goes well

build is coming along nicely, love the color to, its taken me about 2 years to get mine where it is and we had a lot of fun with it stock to.

Was that because they torqued them too much?

Yes. Most likely some newbie at the dealer using the impact/air gun for to long on the bolts causing it to swell and break like that. Also it could have been that they didn't screw the lug on by hand first then hit it with the air gun. I had to replace my lugs in the past because of stupid idiots doing the latter

I bought mine used and first time I went to rotate the tires there was no socket so I had to have them all removed at the tire shop, at least I wasn't on the side of the road

To answer all curiosity no it looked fine on the wheel just wouldn't come off no matter what they had three techs working on it it took 2 hours an air hammer gun torque wrench and air gun plus three key sockets to brake it loose they had to cut the tamper sleeve and use tamper sockets to brake it loose it was crazy but they got it off

When they got done with it that's what it looked like

So far and update on D-Day not much done other than wash and wax gotta keep her clean
