Critter Tread - Trapping

I set this out in daylight to thin the cat population and caught this Masked Bandit. He’s just a little guy and made no fuss at all. I guess the cat food was too much of a temptation

I wanted to bring him in and make him a little bed with some hot cocoa. Poor little guy couldn’t resist fresh cat food.

9 days of inactivity but early this morning one came through. The journey continues.

So the area where this clown is has no traps. The one from a couple weeks ago (possibly same one) came in and out of here many times then. This guy this morning did the same thing. Really strange.

When he left the area this morning it's pretty hard to navigate without getting by my other cameras and yet he did. So I scouted this morning. There's really only two general areas he can exit through. I moved one camera back and put another one in an area where I had a blind spot. Hopefully full coverage now. And I threw two nice stinky dirt hole sets in the ground near the potential exit trail.

A buddy just stopped by wondering why Doordash didn't get delivered last night. I don't have anymore traps right here, but plenty very close by. Hoping to catch this one too. Still dark for a couple hours.

Ended up being a large male. A lot heavier than the last two. I could barely pick it up.


He tore this place up. 2 inch or so bamboo is the larger one.


At least he had his pet store friend.

It's funny because they look massive on the trail camera but walking up to them in the morning, they are a lot smaller. All three have been that way. But this guy had some serious weight on him for sure. For his size though, he definitely had some muscle tone. High protein low-carb diet.

Yotes east of the Mississippi are way bigger than west. They are like dogs here. Closer to German Shepards.
