Cover for dog pen

So I'm looking for recommendations for a good cover for a dog pen. I put up some new fencing in the back yard for the dogs. My wife bought a tarp that was supposed to be "for a dog pen", but like my experience with most tarps they tear apart pretty quickly. Looking at something for shade mostly. If it keeps water off them that's a plus but obviously they have a dog house for that. My in-laws have offered us a pool cover that would give shade but water would get through. If anyone has any good ideas I'd love to hear them.

Interesting. I'll look into that. Tarps always come apart at the grommets for me. It's an odd shape I'm working with so a standard kennel cover won't work.

They are hard to find now, but a coated canvas tarp with brass grommets.

Look to your local awning company or marine store for recommendations on a local marine cover maker (may be the same as the awning company).

I hadn't considered awning fabric. Makes good sense

Talked to a local awning place today. Pulled some measurements and going to get a price tomorrow.

I use shade cloth on my dogs area. It doesn’t rip and also doesn’t turn into a kite when the wind blows.
