Colorado - 2013 Plan

Well how many Jeeps are signed up so far, I want in, Im Friends with Iron Cross, ( Jeremy ) And minus a few parts mine is more then capable of doing all these trails and will be done here soon.

A lot of people are interested. When it comes to actually writing checks, it will slim down a bit. All I know is that bdmckenna has first dibs, and I've got second dibs! Gotta go in order of response on this thread if there are more people than can go. Don't want 100 jeeps or it will take all day to do a mile-long trail... Haha.

Well im down for this trip no matter what, Im here in Colorado and will help with what ever needs to be done, Just let me know.

Good to know. I know we wanted some locals to handle some preparatory things that we can't, due to distance.

well, there are a few of us locals that are lookin to help. I got a sponsor lined up but really needing more information to get it rolling.

Yeah I hear ya. Unfortunately, our fearless leader is having some hardships currently. Hopefully his wife will be feeling better soon and he will get to chime in. I know he has done some work on the plans already, so I'd rather wait to see what he has and what he's envisioning before we start making different plans. He was gracious enough to take the lead so I don't want to step on his toes.

In the meantime, everyone can schedule having their rigs ready in time! I'm thinking our vehicle requirements should be at least as strict as the JKX, since we will be running the same trails. If someone could post those requirements (they are on the JKX website) that would be helpful. I'm on mobile...

Vehicle Requirements
Lockers, Front and Rear
Sport Cage
37″ Minimum Tire Size for 4 Door
35″ Minimum Tire Size for 2 Door
Must be self sufficient with tools and spare parts
Must carry 2 Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kit and Spill Kit
Working CB Radio
Winch
Working E-brake

Well I was interested early on and would still love to join but the 37" min just got me. I just put a new set of 35" on and won't be going larger before this. So who ever is next in line will be pleased. I'll catch the next one......bummed!!!!!

I've been silently trolling this thread since I found it. I'd love to join this group, but a sport cage just put my out of the deal. Since I typically make a trip to this area yearly anyway, would there be any interest in a second group meeting up to run some trails that aren't quiet as hard, but still a lot of fun and give the rocky mountain experience?

Shoot, we might even be able to still meet up or at least cross paths for one of the trails. I know black bear pass would certainly be something that nearly any jeep could do. Might be fun to have a really big group for one of the trails that we will just be driving and not worrying about too many obstacles.

Just a thought. :twocents:

Sport cages are like $600... That's less than a front driveshaft! Haha.

I might get back in. I'm currently stock, hoping to be somewhat modded by this trip, but my DD can't also meet JKX requirements. If there's others interested, this would be cool.

It is hard for me to plan this far as well, we have to bid on vacation time and it goes by senority but I would know more by Thanksgiving. As for requierments, I hit them all but the sport cage, most likely I am gunning for that once we get this wedding thing done. Hoping to get myself one for Christmas.

My DD mets the JKX requirements. ;)

Yes it does and I'm jealous! Hopefully I'll get there someday. Must walk before I run. Also need to get wife's blessing for the mods....and the coin for the mods. Lol. First goal is EVO enforcer lift and some nitto trail graps.

Just messing because you wrote so definitively "my DD CAN'T also meet the requirements"

I hope you get there soon, but don't piss off the wife along the way. Happy wife equals happy life! LOL!

One of the reasons that I won't be getting a sport cage. I've currently getting my front axle trussed, gusseted, and skid plated, lockers and gears. Then with a winch and bumpers, I don't think another $600 is going to be in the budget.

You've got almost a year to go! But those are all good, functional mods.

Spoken like a man who knows??? Lol. The wife is loving the jeep and the easy/moderate runs so far. My kids dig it too.

Just bought my rig a couple months ago so my money went towards down payment. Mods are endless, but I'm trying to get there.

Every time I see someone post, I keep getting more and more excited! I'm sure we are getting close to our 20 rig Max. I know of a couple people who might be interested. They don't want to ask off work though unless there is a spot for them. Can we get a "for sure going" list. I said it a while back, but I am for sure in!
