Which do you all prefer for a Jeep JK on 37s and 4.5in lift?
I've used both, IMO, both equally greatWhich do you all prefer for a Jeep JK on 37s and 4.5in lift?
Do you think either one is stronger than the other? I have one company tell me to get one and another tell me to get another but they just want to make a sale too. I would rather trust the opinions and experience people have had on here more. Thanks for the responseI've used both, IMO, both equally great
Definitely not those just listed.I've also thought about metal cloak or teraflex too. Such a hard decision.
I have mentalcloak it’s fine but you’ll probably have to modify your axle side attachment point by cutting away some metal since they use a very large joint. Plus it’s gold so it looks kinda weird. But it does seem well made.I've also thought about metal cloak or teraflex too. Such a hard decision.
Interesting to hear Rockjock, so many claim they are junk.Definitely not those just listed.
Synergy, Clayton and Rockjock would be my recommendations.
Just curious why is there as much disdain over mentalcloak here? I purchased a gamechanger lift before I found and joined Wayalife and have no other experience with modern lifts. Interesting enough they (mentalcloak) are very popular in Va. I recently went on an off-road weekend here and probably 80 percent of the Jeeps were sporting their lifts.Definitely not those just listed.

I'm a little curious too. Some forums will tell you to only get metalcloak. The only brands I see with very little hate around them is synergy and claytonJust curious why is there as much disdain over mentalcloak here? The problem is most places push certain information/products because it’s what they decided to buy. They can have issues with them but will never tell you.I'm a little curious too. Nope on a rope.I've also thought about metal cloak or teraflex too.

The information you will find here is from real world, personal experience and feedback. And to be clear, giving criticism to a company doesn’t automatically mean we are just trashing on them. MetalCloak is far from having the worst products out there but still far short in some areas in my opinion. We have seen welds break, bars easily bend, their rear “D3” drop brackets bend with any good hit to a rock and literally replaced a newer track bar bushing this week that was causing death wobble.
There’s no better way to test out parts than out on the trail abusing them which a lot of people here do and are here to share that feedback to help others. And as a shop, we get to see all kinds of products/setups come in and get to see what works and what doesn’t.
Understand that for sure but then that’s when you ask them “why?”I agree, though it is hard to tell if a shop is just trying to sell you something. I'm not saying you're doing that but for example my local shop told me to get rough country lol
Pretty much all are the same with adjustment involving a jam nut or pinch bolts. Once you set the length, there shouldn’t be any real reason to adjust again unless you change your lift height. Also note, the axle is never perfectly centered due to changing weight/suspension cycling.I love the idea of a bar that's adjustable right on the Jeep but at the same time, the Clayton one is a Jam nut and once they are truly tight to spec, they shouldn't move but I guess you give up some strength with having one like Synergy being adjustable? or am I wrong?
Good point. I usually do ask that actually, it's great advice.Understand that for sure but then that’s when you ask them “why?”

Honestly, it really doesn’t matter on that. I’d run both of them. So, which do you prefer? A jam nut like Clayton or the pinch like Synergy?
Thanks for your opinion and wisdom. Sounds like you run a good shopHonestly, it really doesn’t matter on that. I’d run both of them.
