Cb license

Hey thanks for the memories.
KJI3287
Cant remember when I was assigned that number but lets just say a long time ago.

As an ex trucker I always have had a cb.
Now days you can go 500 miles and its quiet.

Most of the logging operations here in OR.
still use them and post the channel in use on the way in, at the end of the road.
Good idea to go to that channel and let them know your coming in. You dont want to meet a fully loaded log truck coming out the "hard way".

Apologize in advance for the novice questions but, having one radio sounds really good: does your radio speak to CBs? require special license? different than ham? Use special antenna? Many thanks!

My radio is a Ham radio. There are mods out there that "open" them to CB frequencies, as well as the Ham bands.
That mod is illegal but is very easy for someone that knows how to do it.
I'm not saying mine has that mod....
Irregardless, to use a Ham radio on the Ham bands you need a license from the FCC. It is an easy license to get.
Www.arrl.org has a ton of info if you decide you are interested in getting a license.
If you want more in depth info pm me and I'd be happy to help.
