C gussets

Weird. I was a new member at one point, who came with "new" knowledge, yet Im still here. Could it be that you cant admit that you were wrong and maybe learn some more "new" knowledge?

It's obvious on this Forum, that your Administrator is very knowledgeable, when it comes to Wranglers. He is also very professional! And this is great!
But it is also very obvious that, this is where the knowledge and professionalism starts and ends! Very sad.:yup:

I picked this Forum because it was smaller, and I thought that just maybe, you would welcome some outside experience and help. But I was very wrong!

It is also very obvious, that new knowledge coming in is perceived as a threat, rather than opinions being discussed in a professional way. So it is better to try and belittle the new member, and make him look stupid. Well I guess that this is what makes you happy!!!! Just maybe this has some impact on why this Forum is still small, verses others.

O.K.,I am gone and that will make you all feel safe, plus you can now smile from ear to ear, because you accomplished you goal of chasing another one off.

Hopefully in the future, you will at least think about what I have said, and Welcome new members in a professional manner. If not, well then it is your lose, and not mine!

Seriously, I wish you all the very best, and hope that you will start to act more in a mature manner.

Admin, please pull my username, and thank you for your original Welcome!!!!!!!!!!

You make yourself sound stupid, we don't need to do that.

And I will speak for Eddie and tell you we don't delete users from the site. You want to leave, leave.

For the price yes it is worth it. I have a D30 upfront with 3.5" lift and 35" tires and just recently installed 513s and Gussets. Until I have money or the D30 breaks it is a little added insurance.

We are all for new knowledge. However, we are going to call it out if it's wrong on every level and will cause another member more problems down the road. I'm not even going to touch all of the other bullshit spewed in that post.

This is a good point...Sad now a days that people cannot disagree and be cordially about it anymore and have a discussion on the topic. But that is life.

One of the reason I like this site is that people call it like it is and are honest even if I dont agree....Its refreshing for a change.

O.K., I will try to clarify.
If most of your usage is going to be on highway, which a high percent are, then a lot of reinforcement is not justified.
In this case, running 35's, the minimum (which I stated in my original post) is upper C gussets and Hd grease-able Ball Joints. Some don't even do this, so it is a choice!

But if your primary usage is off road, let's say Rock Crawl. Plus depending on your driving experience and skills, then a lot more MOD maybe needed.
Like upper and lower C gussets, HD grease-able Ball Joints, a Truss and upgraded steering linkage. I wouldn't use Chrome Moly shafts, because your weak Link is already your R&P. Better to brake a shaft, verses blow the carrier!

I know of a experienced rock crawler, that is easy on the foot, and doesn't have any beefed up Mods, plus he runs heavy Nitto 35's, without any issues.

Yet, you can take a driver with little to no experience, he is heavy on the foot, gets it bouncing and shock loads the hell out of it. Well he needs ever beefed up MOD available, and will probably still blow the weak link Dana 30 R&P.

I will be more specific in the future when I Post and will specify the type of usage.

Thank you for taking the time to read this clarification!:thumb:

Common bro really??? Lol I'm a new member first of all. Yes you may think ouu know something because of what you learned it does not mean it is correct. (That life) If ur thinking logically how would reenforcing the top and not bottom make sense??? Even I know that and I'm new to the jeep world.

But we here on WOL are wrong?? Because we gave u some criticism on what YOU think to be true?? 😒😒

How about you do some research before YOU get defensive!! And try to stand behind a point just because that's what ur BFF said.

I just didn't think it would be worth wasting money on the d30 with "c" and gears but I see hold it will make it last and give me more time to save for the pr44

Not withstanding the disagreement. I trussed, gussetted, regreared and put chromoly shafts in my 30. I'm running 35's and have lots of both road and trail miles. I've been very happy. At 62k miles I added a chromoly tie rod and new steering stabilizer. Maybe it's over-built, but I feel good about it.

Thank you

You also have to consider how much wheeling you do and what kind. For me I know the D30 will last me a bit as I don't go crazy right now. Also I have heard that as long as you run 35s and not 37s the D30 will last a little longer.

Hbkid, your statement is mostly correct...when you're talking about the R&P and axle shafts...but even 33's can bend your inner C's and you most certainly should gusset even if you are running 35's

I agree that the type of wheeling matters. I'm a SoCal guy, so John Bull, Calico, Mottino and Johnson Valley are regular trails for me. I know at some point there's an axle swap coming.

You can bend the c's by hitting a pothole. Wheeling doesn't matter.

Strizzy. You are correct and as overland stated, you can bend them driving to the mall. I know running 35s on a D30 isn't the smartest and I am prepared for the break so I will take the gamble til then. And as long as one is ok with that then no harm. Just be ready for a PR44! :)

Yes the admins are knowledgeable but so are all the members

I picked this Forum because it was smaller, and I thought that just maybe, you would welcome some outside experience and help. But I was very wrong!

So we are the a-holes here because we didn't allow someone to come on here and pass out bad information?
Believe it or not the members on here generally care about each other and don't like to see them steered in the wrong direction

It is also very obvious, that new knowledge coming in is perceived as a threat, rather than opinions being discussed in a professional way. As a threat :cheesy::cheesy: that's a good one. What makes us happy is everyone having fun in the Jeeping world, what's not fun is watching someone break down on the trail because someone thought they knew what they were talking about, spread bad info and ended up being dead wrong. The reason why the forum is small compared to the rest is because we prefer to only have those who are truly all about the Jeeping Wayalife. Other places will take just about anyone to get their numbers up. You could say we go for quality not quality.

O.K.,I am gone and that will make you all feel safe, plus you can now smile from ear to ear, because you accomplished you goal of chasing another one off.

Thank you but we don't chase off members, they just run away with their tails in-between their legs because they're too proud to admit they may have been in the wrong

Hopefully in the future, you will at least think about what I have said, and Welcome new members in a professional manner. If not, well then it is your lose, and not mine!

Probably won't happen, you'll likely be forgot quicker than the time you were here

Seriously, I wish you all the very best, and hope that you will start to act more in a mature manner.

No you don't and we always have

We don't remove people

Have fun wherever you end up, hopefully they'll do a better job at holding your hands and giving you the hugs and kisses your looking for

Hey all, so my PR44 housing is in, and I was going to add the EVO LCA skids before i start putting the internals in. Question is, should I add EVO C-gussets to the PR? or is that really just ridiculous? I have a 2013 JKUR on 37s.
