Caught the Bug
Back in January of 2024 I was looking for a new 2dr when I also saw Eddie post about Bandit, naturally I headed down to the local dealer to take a look and test drive some 2drs.

I drove a 2dr manual and took a look at the Gladiators while I was there. I was surprised to see a diesel in the JT, I've been without a Jeep for a few years and since selling my last Jeep a 2012 JKU. I had no idea they made them. Turns out they were discontinued and these were the last of their kind, Hmmm.

I've been partial to diesel motors since I was a kid and my dad introduced me to them. So I ended up finding a dealer with 4 JT's on the lot and drove home the 2023 Sarge color.

Now I already had a Tacoma, and didn't really need a yet another truck. With the JT in the garage, blah blah..

Ill stop with the boring story and cut to the chase, traded the Tacoma in yesterday on this:

Driving into PDX while doing a break-in on the axle gears.. yeah I do that for the first hundred.

I gotta say this place is a trip if you like to people watch. What was that character that walked around with hair 360 in all directions covering his face? Yeah. He lives on as a high school kid in Portland. I wasn't fast enough with the camera. Sorry.

Anyways, home now after a very long drive home through WA, OR and ID. Hope you enjoyed reading my little story.

Jeep Wave 👋

Congrats!

@matt -- Nice shot crossing the St. John's bridge. Years ago, I worked with a guy who crashed and burned a gasoline tanker on that span and lived to tell the story; although he was terribly disfigured from the accident. By the way, nice looking JL. Maybe we'll met up some time at TSF or one of the other local trails. I'm thinking of doing the Jolly Jeepers Rally there in mid-July with my Gladiator diesel.

Congrats!
Thank you!

Thank you, some professional drivers shouldn't be on the roads. Is there a group to join up here in PNW, Id like to start exploring the area.

Congratulations on the new Jeep.

Yes, Portlandia is a freak show
Thanks!

I'm not sure where in the PNW you are located, but if your are near PDX or the Willamette valley, check out:
  • I didn't read the rules
I plan on attending the Jolly Jeepers RallyJuly 18-20, 2025. This is their major annual trail run in the Tillamook State Forest (TSF) and you don't have to be a club member to participate. There are two badge of honor trails in TSF, Ceder Tree and Firebreak 5. It's a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Of course, I'm always up for a day or two of wheeling in the PNW and have four different rigs, depending on the circumstances. DM me if you want to meet some other like-minded Jeepers.
