Last set of BFG's I had also did not wear even like every other set before them and why I am trying the Nitto Ridge, been happy with them over the past 2 yearsThus far we are really happy with Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Primarily used on the highway (and some city driving). I did take a short trip with them in some light snow/ice with steep inclines and I did not lose control.
I ran the Rubicon factory K02s for several years. One trip was unexpectedly 90 miles in 4WD on a mountain highway at 45-50 mph in freezing snow and the tires did well. But the tires did not all wear the same, even given 5 way rotations, so I was not happy about that.
I've been running the Toyo R/T Trail 37x12.50 17 for the last 4 months. Running down the highway they are quiet and smooth and recently at KOH and Dumont been in the sand with them. They performed really well. Street pressure (26 psi) and 2wd no hopping, chatter, or spinning. Can't speak for how they perform in mud or snow because I avoid mud and we don't get much snow...haha. I've put about 4k miles on them and am happy so far. They have a 45k mile warranty as well.Toyo has a new A/T out that looks pretty good
Since you live in Vegas, where it hardly ever rains, then there is likely more oil remaining on the road than many other places.I have 38" Nitto Ridge Grapplers and they DO slip in light rain. I live in Las Vegas and we get very little rain so it's not really a concern for me, but if I lived where it gets alot more wet, I would choose a different tire.
I find my experience different than everyone else for some reason in regards to the Nitto's slipping on wet.
