How low was it?Thus is what I came out to today. So for now looks like I'm airing up every morning and possible afternoon until I get this fixed...haha.View attachment 415444
Just checked. It's down to 10psi. Great if I was rock crawling to sell coffee, not so much on the interstate...hahaHow low was it?
When you move to rural Nevada, there will be no more interstate!Just checked. It's down to 10psi. Great if I was rock crawling to sell coffee, not so much on the interstate...haha
It sounds like Raceline must be a good company. Being able to talk to a smart human who cares is important! So to keep everyone updated I just pounded the ring back a little past flat as per Raceline's suggestion. It's still not sealing. After I removed the ring I noticed the gap between the ring and wheel lip was only about an 1/8". I told him this and he said that's borderline being to close. He suggested fix is to install the thicker, flat aluminum rings because the bead is just too thin. He's going to get them to me ASAP and discount them. He then wants me to follow up with him to ensure my problem is fixed. Sucks about the problem but have had a great experience with their customer service.
Being able to talk to a real person is a rarity these days. I’m glad they will be giving you a discount. So many companies wouldn’t. Especially because these wheels are 12 years old...haha. Yeah they have been. I actually emailed the same guy about 5 years ago about swapping my rings. It's funny because he is out of town on the east coast and they transferred me to his cell and he picked up.It sounds like Raceline must be a good company. Yep. They are awesome. So much quieter and smoother. Plus no need to balance them. No vibrations at allTires look fresh though!
Awesome!! Congrats!Well wanted to follow up with everyone. Finally made time to get the new rings installed. Thicker rings with longer bolts. Everything sealed up as normal. The aluminum rings sit flatter against the bead adding more pressure to tighten things up. All is good and no more airing up every day. Plus I've always liked the look of the aluminum rings better. Wish they'd have come with them when I bought them like they do now.

Awesome!! Congrats!
Thanks. I've wanted those rings for awhile just couldn't justify the purchase when the original ones worked fine. Now I can...hahaGlad everything worked out with the new rings. Looks good!
Thanks. They kinda look like slabs now...haha.Looks great!
Mine actually weren't bent like I suspected. The design of the steel rings just didn't add enough clamping pressure to the thin beads. The tech did say to hammer them back so maybe try that first before buying new rings. It'd save a couple bucks.Glad you got this sorted out. Looks awesome.
Last time I put my rings back on, they were so visibly jacked up, I told myself i would have to buy new ones next time. This thread sealed the deal.
Thanks. They kinda look like slabs now...haha.
