AT LAST - Rubicat can steer again!!

What exactly is this? I get its a ram assist. But if I was to go to Northridge Nd search for it, is that what I would search for? Is it just a better power steering? I hear a lot of talk about it. Just don't understand exactly what it does. >.<

It's a hydraulic ram that helps provide steering input. When you're running big tires, your footprint will be big enough to make steering difficult and this will help out a lot.

Have you double checked to make sure your steering wheel is centered? I've put on a lot of miles today and don't have any problems. Same is true on Moby

I did check the steering wheel on an alignment machine with a procal. 95% of the time it doesn't kick on but when I get into banked s turns and pushing it is when I have the problem.

Could just be a body roll issue then.

The Ram Assist is my next big purchase. I'm probably doing that next year, but I still can't imagine pushing those ATX Slabs and your 37s without the assist. My Racelines are light compared to those monsters. What a workout!

Depending on what size tires you're running, you need more than just a new pump but rather, a ram assist to help things along :yup:

Yep,rebuilt and tapped our steer gear, added PSC ram.Stock pump not giving the ram the pressure it needs. Also added steering cooler

What size rams are you all using that can't be pushed by the stock pump? I have seen 1.5"diameter rams work with the stock pump.
