Arb fridge/ freezer

So glad I finally got one of these a few weeks back. Got it for 887 with the transit bag, and also the remote monitor. By far my new favorite mod.

I did the same. The monitor just fits between the steering column and the ignition key. I ran a couple of sheet metal screws in through the back of the pop away panel there to attach, the tape didn't last an hour. You have to duck your head to read it, but its out of the way.

I wanted to do that, but my trail rocker takes up that spot. It's not often you need to read the temp- and I can see the orange/green LED to know it's working without tilting my head. I'm only slightly concerned that the menacing looking brake controller mount above it will end up in my knee if I get in a wreck.

Ok awesome I'm thinking of buying a fridge and was debating on getting one or not I guess I still have thinking to do haha thanks

To elaborate more, to me, it was worth the purchase, to some, it may not be. It was nice to drive from eastern Oklahoma to central Colorado and not have to wonder if all the food I just bought was going bad in a hot fridge in the 105+ temps in the panhandle of Oklahoma. So, $80 dollars was worth it to me.

This is exactly why I got mine. Just for the peace of mind while your crossing the middle of nowhere you know at a glance that the fridge is happy and your food is safe. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1473893677.926332.jpg

Yea that is a good point saves the extra time of having to stop and check it. I'll have to get it because it's well worth not stopping haha

I mainly got it since it was in the deal. Didnt think at first I would even use it honestly, but since I cant really see the front of the fridge how I mount it without moving my seat, I am glad I have it.

How well does this thing keep things frozen? Like Ice cream or ice for instance. And when you have it set to keep those things frozen, how would waters, sandwiches, fruits, ect.. do? I obviously don't want everything else frozen.

I haven't tried keeping things frozen in mine like ice cream and popsickles yet but it will freeze everything up set at 28 overnight. It can be set to 0 degrees F so ice cream should be fine. I always have milk for my cereal so I try to keep it above freezing.

Pulled the trigger

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on a 50q ARB. 4 Wheel Parts is running a deal right now till midnight PST. $599.00 and free shipping. Really excited about getting this in the Jeep. Best price I have ever seen on them too.

I had to jump on that deal too, just seemed too good to pass up! It looks like ARB has a new version of the 50QT cooler coming out soon with some nice new features i.e. stainless steel exterior with built in digital display etc. However pricing is also going to jump up to about $1250 street from what I can see so I'm happy paying 50% less for the current model!

Yep, that new one seems like overkill to me but if I could get one for a good deal I might for the new features. I hope they continue to make both though.

I believe the new model is 63 qt and the 50 is staying the same. At least for now from what I could find on their site.

Yup, the new all weather stainless fridge is 63 qts and the extra volume comes from it's bigger footprint. Not something that would fit on top of the folded down rear driver side seat like the standard 50 qt will.
