Another dana30 topic

Some simple math and makes you think twice on slapping lip stick on a pig. One reason why I'm not going to do a bunch with my front 44. Let the lockers blow up and have the axle snap in half.

With this option I get both Axles Locked and upgraded shafts and with the arb locker I also get on board air

Front Axle
30 Spline RCV axle shafts - 1,285.00
dana 30 30 Spline ARB Locker - 1,095.65
G2 5.13 R&P - 196.99
G2 Master Install Kit front Dana30 - 136.99
Offroad Evolution Sealed Axle Sleeves & C2 Gussets - 219.99

Rear Axle
35 Spline RCV Axle Shafts - 1,499.00
Dana 44 35 Spline ARB Locker - 1,040.99
G2 5.13 R&P - 208.99
G2 Master Install Kit Rear Dana44 - 209.99

Cryo Treatment Both R&P - 50.00
ARB on Board Twin Air Compressor - 517.99
Air Locker Manifold Kit for ARB Twin Compressor - 67.99

Total $6,530

This is just the price of the ProRock44 built with no air compressor or tank and leaves your rear axle still in need of gears a master install kit axle shafts locker ending up somewhere over $8,000

Dynatrac ProRock44 - 5249.95
-Arb Locker
-Dynatrac Ball Joints
-5.13 Gears
-Factory OEM Yoke
-RCV Shafts
-Reuse Knuckels

You could do the PR44 plus lock and regear your front axle for under 6500.

You don't need to sleeve and gusset a PR44 and you don't need to do either with the rear axle.

5200 for a build PR44 plus all this for the rear

35 Spline RCV Axle Shafts - 1,499.00
Dana 44 35 Spline ARB Locker - 1,040.99
G2 5.13 R&P - 208.99
G2 Master Install Kit Rear Dana44 - 209.99

Cryo Treatment Both R&P - 50.00
ARB on Board Twin Air Compressor - 517.99

i understand its possible but come one man your front axle will be stronger than your rear if you do that

Why get RCV shafts for the rear right now? Your worried about your front axle. I understand wanting to do everything at once but there is no need to do all that to the rear. Your rear 44 is way stronger then your built 30.

Understood that its not necessary to be done at the same time but i am personally im considering going this route just because most local shops give you a better deal with labor when your having a lot done at the same time and we all know that axle work isnt cheap but i think that this last statement about the strength is just opinionated...

Does anyone have personal experience and not just what has been read on other peoples threads about breaking stock 30 axle shafts or from "i knew a guy that knew a guy" or those "there was this one time" stories? has anyone personally built a dana 30 and had any issues with it? I Know that a 44 will withstand alot but I just want to know if a built 30 can do the same? either way no matter what route I go i think that a PR44 will be more than enough strength for what I have available and I think a built 30 will be strong enough

I will leave this at good luck with your build! Report back with good or bad news as I would be interested in hearing either or. Good luck!

Just throwing this out there. Why RCV shafts? I run the ten factory chromo shafts. 5.13s gusseted synergy ball joints. We go wheeling or try to at least once a month. I do take the tough lines but I realize I have a weak point so I use the skinny pedal accordingly. Maybe take that left over 600 from buying and put it into control arms and and discos to keep those front tires on the ground. Didn't see if you already had those things. I've been running this setup for a little over a year with good luck. Now with all that being said I just bought a PR44 and doubt I'll be able to recoup hardly any of my investment into the D30.

Are you installing your own gears or have a hook up on installing gears? I didn't see that in your math for the D30

I do already have teraflex discos and im running stock control arms for now but I'm undecided with what control arms I want i hear nothing bad about the evo set up but ive been considering the metal cloak arms and as far as gaining anything back out of it will be either selling it and i know i wont gain much out of that but it will be better than nothing and the other option will be when my wife gets her jk if that axle is still alive i can put it in her vehicle

my Uncle has a buddy that works for a shop doing this and does side jobs from time to time for a case of beer and a couple hundred bucks
