Not really a Jeep mod but, got a soft surf rack from Catch (based in San Clemente) to incentivize me to get out on the board more - picking up a new 7’6” Rusty board tomorrow in fact.

Have similar for when my son got into surfing for a bit... looks like the 2 pads are a little close together on the 2 door.. should work though. Twist the straps a bit or they'll make a slapping noise.

They really are - will have to bias the board towards the front for sure. 4 door would be nice here. Thanks for the tip on the straps!

I’ve had a long board strapped to the top many times before. Mid length board will be just fine.

Jealous. Sounds like the perfect board in my opinion. I like to ride that length.
Tried my buddy’s suuuper short board last time I was out. Did not stand up. lol.

Haha yeah, I’d love a short board but only when my skill gets back up to that level… a 7-8 footer is perfect for doing a little bit of everything.

So they had a great selection at my favorite shop down here in Encinitas, and I actually ended up with a 7’ 10” Kies board for the same price. I’ve been going to this shop for years and love the staff.
My guy Todd sold me on the 7’ 10” since it being just a tad wider and more stable than the 7’ 6” I was originally looking at would be a safe bet for me coming from the long board world.

So, back in the day, before i was a fat fuck, I surfed as well. A 7’6” was the longest I ever had but my go to was a thruster. The last board before I quit was this Rusty Whitlock 6’2” signature that I kept and will never get rid of…

Same deal here. Years and 50+ pounds ago I was surfing a lot. Had a few boards but my go to was my 8’6” mini long. The 6’6” pumpkin seed seen a lot of use too. But the MLB was the daily driver.
Also have a SUP I thought I’d get into. Never really enjoyed it.
