Haha it's just like jko by the second page everything is a argument. I'm the op and just want to share a pic of my jeep and now it's on 7 pages of BS
I don't think people are wanting to be mean Or fight, it's just that everyone wants 40's and most guys will never get them because they can't afford the axles to run them. When you posted that pic, and eryone realized you were on stock axles it probably made them feel like you were cheating.... "He can't run 40's, he didn't get the axles!!"
I think that's what started a lot of the drama... Then to make matters worse, people saying that you're hardcore and the hardcore guys knowing that your rig would definitely not make it through a nasty boulder trail.
Lastly, everyone knows that you don't mess with overlander!! Let's call out the guy who's actually in some of those wayalife videos you've been watching at home!! I like him because he doesn't care what people think, he just states the obvious and what everyone else wants to say but won't.
05 Tj, long arm, one ton, lockers, winches, 39.5" Iroks
Ok i understand that part.
You dont know me or my capability behind the wheel to base something on tire size. The west coast things are different on the east coast we make due with what we have.
And as to overlander call out everyone is calling him out for being an ass. Things are a lot different face to face its easy to talk shit on forums.

I don't think anyone was questioning YOUR ability to drive, you're obviously a great driver if you can coax that thing not to break... they were questioning your rigs capabilities in its current state..
As for making due with what we have... My rig is completely home built with almost everything off of craigslist. Bought an f350 for the axles, made most of the brackets, parted out the rest of the truck... Craigslist lockers, had to buy gears from 4wheelpartsbut did all the installs myself..
Homemade bumpers and most armor, and Craigslist wheels/tires... It was an extremely tight budget build.
I like to think I make do with what I have..

David I'm doing the same thing I have a dana 60 front out of a f-550 I bought for $75 with 4:88 gears no outers then I picked up a complete set out of a f 250 yes the front is a dana 50 but it was $100 and came with a sterling 10.5 and a dana 60 rear I will be doing my own gears as well. I'm just saving for parts to build them then I will sell my 44s
lots of catching up to do and they never ran 60s in a 550 more like 80s, (but im going to assume you meant 350) but as GCM2 said seems like you wanna spend your money twice trying to get the same goal done, i get it most people like to bash their heads on a brick wall. i wont question your motives but if you wanna waste your money put it towards a good cause at least. best of luck with your reckless money spending on a "tight budget" :thumb:
You might want to do your research before commenting cause you have no idea what your talking about. And as for my Dana 44 I will have $2,000 into front and rear built so when I can sell them for 4,000 yeah that sounds like wasting money.
just wondering but who is going to pay 2000 for a dana 44 front that is broken? and as far as needing to do research im not the one claiming that ford 550s have dana 60 fronts when they just dont even the 450s dont have dana 60s. Far as the rubicon 44 front goes its simply a dana 30 with slightly bigger axle shafts and a dana 44 center section, so a super dana 30 conversion kit makes a 30 very comparable in strength. Truss it, sleeve it, do all you want but at the end of the day you will have a broken 44 front, anyone who has any common sense will NOT buy a set of 44s that have been ran with 40s. and in this economy good luck selling those 44s for 4,000. Good luck with your research and selling of broken axles for primo pricing.
Looks like they were in fact available in F-450 & F-550 Super-Duty trucks as Dana Super 60 (introduced in 2004 model year)........this article from Fourwheeler Network is from 2009
