Made it home 6pm. About 7 miles from home I think rear ring and pinion gave out. I’m rolling down the freeway. Hearing a noise for a lot of the trip home. Definitely before Fresno. Playing with accelerator try to diagnose. BANG it gave out. Limped it home through service streets. Great weekend. Making friends and memories. Thanks Eddie , Cindy and the crew for the hospitality and inclusion. Had a great time with great people.

Caught the Bug
I am in Bishop, CA resting and will return home tomorrow. I will NOT wait 11 years to go on my next WAL run. I had a wonderful time (even though my body is not too happy with me) being out in the desert with my Peeps and Jeeps. Even after two Mojave Desert Carwash specials, I'll still end up spending $15-$20 getting Blanca clean as well as changing the diff fluids. It was nice to put a nickname to a face. I met the nicest people and saw some great builds. I am at a time in my life where I'll be able to spend a bit more money on my Jeep since I'll be keeping her. I don't take my JKU out as much as you all but I at least see front coilovers on her in the next year or so. I think the icing on the cake was driving towards Bakersfield and seeing waving and honking Jeeps filled with people I just spent the weekend with! I'm down for next year. Thank you to Eddie and Cindy and the tailgunners/midgunners for helping keep the "cats" herded and together. Oh, that beautiful blue Bronco who joined us is a wonderful storyteller! Beautiful blue color. My mom would have loved that color.

Mine was definitely not a lack of oil problem. Long story short. They had a rough beginning. I knew they wouldn’t last forever. About 50k miles on them. In my opinion. Premature failure. But we’ll get it fixed shortly. I drain and fill my diffs once a year before wheeling season kicks off.

Thanks to Eddie and Cindy for organizing this we had a blast and I’m pretty sure my buddy wants a jeep now 
Now time to look for some rubicon take off shocks as mine are blown out (again) . My rear tires were also starting to self clearance themselves with the fenders

Thank you, Cindy and Eddie, for the adult version of Mr. Toads Wild Ride. The grand kids had so much fun they wonder why this isn't a bi-monthly outing. They don't know how much work you put into these trips. It was great to meet some new friends and swap jokes with the usual suspects. Susan and I wanted to party with y'all. The spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. Maybe next time we will hang out with the younger crowd ( you know: in their seventies )
