2016 JKU Silver Build

Ok. I cut the fenders. It was fairly easy but time consuming. I used a jigsaw with a fine wood blade. I removed the fender and the inner fender, cut the inner fender, cut the sub-fender, cut the fender then re-installed everything. I made a bracket from 5/8" aluminum rod found at lowes. This holds the back end of the inner fender and keeps it secure. See photo. Also, I installed poison spyder 3/4" amber LEDs for running lights inside the inner fender (soldered to factory running light plug that was removed from fender). Then, I put the door edge trim around where I cute the fender (really easy with a heat gun). In all, this took about 6 hours to complete.

rear fender cut

In the process of doing the rears...

I cut along the edge of the body on the inner fender but opted to leave the attachment points where the inner fender attaches to the outside of the body. It seems to be more secure and you can't really see it once it is put back together and painted black.

CB Mounted on Glove Box

Found a good location to mount the CB. I screwed it into the front of the glove box. It keeps it upright so you can see controls, speaker pointed out so you can hear it well and doesn't get in the way of a passengers knees. In fact, if you have a passenger, guess what their job is?! Radio watch! Radio can be easily removed and stored in glove box with two thumb screws on side just leaving the bracket in place. If anyone asks what the bracket is for, I tell them it's a toilet paper roll holder.:beer:

Time for some more upgrade fun...

I welded EVO c gussets and EVO control arm skid plates on the front LCAs. I'm not a real experienced welder but I got it done and made sure I went slow and cooled the axles and joints. Adsitionall, I installed a set of Currie front lower control arms with the Johnny Joints. Love the arms!
