Armchair quarterback time...
I like both the NR and Nitto videos. They are fun and most certainly better than anything I could produce. But there is a pretty high bar to meet.
They've lost the personal feel that the JKX videos have in the past. I'd like to learn more about the drivers, where they came from, their history, and how many JKX's (like Randy) they've been on. What about their rigs? Previous videos weren't just about showing Jeeps throwing mud. They were about the people, their rigs, the trails, and in a lot of cases, the historical information of the location, it was a complete adventure video.
The music was boring. One song played throughout the whole video in both cases. Videos done by Eddie and Cindy had awesome sound tracks. I found myself bored of the music after the first three minutes both the NR and Nitto videos. Music should change up for every major scene change. One long song works great for a commercial, but not so much for something that is 10-15 minutes long. If the music did change it was so close to the previous song I didn't notice.
Tip to NR, your narrator needs to really do something about sounding like he is talking to his computer in an empty echoing office. Get a good mic, put cardboard, carpet, foam padding, egg cartons, something on the walls to dampen it a bit.
Maybe we will be seeing better from here forward and this was just the intro?
