2013 Billet JKU Rubi Build Thread

Ok mind is now set I will be getting Evo bolt on long arms as well as a set of compression adjustable king 2.5s since COs r really just overkill for me

The only advantage I see to coilovers at Rausch creek is for the big amount of droop. But other than that I can't imagine very many places on the east coast where they would be used too much.

I agree and I do plan on going out west but even still I don't think I need COs they r just badass though lol

Later on in my life when I have cash sitting around and I'm  about what to do with it maybe then I'll get coilovers.

I hear they are great. MTG has them

Yea from what I've heard they are sick and can still handle some low speed Baja runs even though that's not what I plan on doing nice to have the ability to mess around

I would assume that it would really make your on road ride quality much better which is great for long trips.

It will help but probably not that much cuz the bilstiens are great but when I get long arms it will ride like a Cadillac onroad

Is that really needed with the Rubicon stock lockers?

Hate to say it but all the hate on the stock rubi lockers is totally warranted. They are way to weak and only meant for a max tire size of 32" so as soon as u put big tires on they can't handle it and will break if u use them

That's interesting. Wish I would've known that beforehand. I could've put on a ProRock 44 and ARB lockers myself and come out about the same versus buying a Rubicon and upgrading the lockers and having gussets welded on the C's.

Sadly ur probably right but the stock 44 housing with gussets is plenty strong just don't count on those elockers lasting to long with 35s or 37s

Are you aware of any possible damage to the gears if they do break? Or by break, do you mean they just won't be able to lock and would slip?

By break he means they will not engage so no damage to the lockers

Not true , in my case the rear locker was only half engaged and was chewing up my spider gears thankfully I didn't drive far and took it apart and managed to get the locker to completely disengage. All of this was caused because the elocker sensor bent and was stuck behind the lock ring. My advice wud be anyone running e lockers to just take out the sensor for the light on the dash and break the end off so it's not touching anything this will at least eliminate one problem here is what it looked like when I took it out ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1381962820.793902.jpg
See how bent it is compared to the threads and see that little nipple hanging off the end that's what I recommend braking off. This will cause ur dash locker lights to not work anymore but IMO who cares it's very easy to tell if ur locked or not

Take a look at offroad evos pics of the e locker completely shredded inside the rear housing but most of the time it will not effect ur ring or pinion
