2 door lift kits

Since the day I ordered my 22' Willys sport 2 door I knew I wanted to lift it. I don't want to go too high tho cause I plan on running 35s . I'm starting to go cross eyed after reading up on different lifts and watching videos but I think I've narrowed it down to a couple options within my budget.

#1 and probably my favorite is the EVO enforcer stage 1 with king 2.0 shocks. This will use up my budget but I feel like it's probably the best bang for my buck and I can add more of their components down the road as my budget allows.

#2 Clayton offroad 1.5" , I don't know too much about this kit and it does not include shocks tuned to the springs, I just like the height of lift it produces.

#3 apparently running factory 4 door Rubicon coils on a 2 door sport can produce 1-1.5 inch of lift. While that amount is desirable and it is the cheapest option I'm thinking it gets the height from the increased spring rate and I'm not sure I would like the ride.

This being my first JL having only owned TJ, YJ and XJ's any experience or help would be greatly appreciated.

Being that budget is a concern, I might try installing the Rubicon coils. You'll get more like 1" of lift out of it but it'll be enough for 35's and the ride should be that different, especially if you don't change out your shocks.

That said, it should be noted that MOST coil lifts yield more height than is advertised. Also, aside from ride quality, there is a benefit to running shocks that are made for a lift and that is, they will be the correct length for it as well.

Another kit I might consider, being that budget is a concern, is the Rancho Sport lift. Very affordable and it will give you a nice ride too.

Thanks for your reply. I just watched your video on the Rancho lift the other day. My jeep came with the Rubicon shocks from the factory so I assume they should go well with factory coils. I really like the Evo kit but I'm worried 35s will look too small. What's the ride like with the Rancho? I kinda prefer a softer ride cause of the amount of washboard we have up here

For around town, I think you'd find the Rancho kit to ride better than what you have now. The 5000 shocks are nice and smooth. Where they aren't so great is driving hard and fast across the desert. I can and have blown a set in a Saturday.
Well after thinking it over I'm just gonna keep the suspension stock for now. The Pippi videos have convinced me to run a 285/70 on my factory wheels and suspension and just enjoy my jeep.
Well, it's what we're doing with Pippi as you've pointed out.

I love Pippi, honestly she is the reason I sold my truck and ordered this jeep. And your Colorado jk experience video "keep it tight" was what got me off my butt to build my 99 tj so I definitely appreciate all your advice.
I know at some point I'll be lifting this jeep cause I can't leave well enough alone so I'll definitely keep the Rancho in mind. Their products seem to be far better quality now compared to back in the day

They're not even remotely close to being the same company from yesteryear. They are a part of Tennaco now and most of what they make is made in here in the USA and the parts that aren't, are made in Australia. For someone on a budget, they are who I always recommend.

That's good to know. While I may live in Canada the majority of what I like to buy has to say made in the USA, aside from stuff I source out locally which is very limited.

I have Teraflex's 2.5 on my two door JL running 35 and don't regret the choice. It does lift more that 2.5 inches.
How do you like the look of 2.5+ inches of lift with 35s on a 2 door? There's a couple lifts I'm eyeing up but they all provide 3+ inches of lift which I'm worried will make the 35s look too small.

I think and like that way it has turned out. I have since added some rock sliders which also act as a step and for me that effort has come together nicely. I don't think I would want it any higher, and the 35s fill the wheel wells nicely. Let me know if some additional information or pictures will help you to sort things out and I will try to get that request to you.
I often do get compliments on how my JL looks and stands.

What rock sliders did you use? My wife has been complaining about difficulties getting into the Jeep.

I went with these, https://www.extremeterrain.com/barricade-rock-sliders-2018-jeep-jl-2-door.html
I used to also have the ruby rails in place as well, but have since removed them and it makes using the slider as a step so much better.

You can now easily stand on the sliders and survey the scenery just like an explorer!

I also have grab handles hanging from the bar above the door opening if someone wishes them as assistance as well.
My wife also use to comment before putting the sliders / steps in place about getting in an out of the JL, not anymore, unless she is just trying to dig at me. I have to also state, I like having that slider there as a step myself, it really does make it smoother.

That looks really nice! What happened to it and what do you have now?
I envy the winch on the front, my winch has been on back order since the beginning of February.

Are these sliders really able to be used as a true ''slider" and take half the weight of the Jeep plus some serious bumping? The price seems so low that I feel suspicious.

I've come to that same conclusion/thought with all of that company's items. I didn't know they were around anymore honestly.

The slider is described as "stainless steel" and I imagine that this would add at least $1k to the price of it really needs to be strong enough to serve as a slider.
