Or more. With about 5” of shaft showing the diff is still 10-15% hidden(above the bottom of tank)

If you stick with assist on a tj at least you are limited to about 3” of front stretch. There are other ways to get more if you are willing to relocate your gearbox & such resulting in as much as 7”. On the rear with a very small 10gal tank in factory location you can get just shy of 9”of rear...

Man that’s nuts. I can’t imagine what that was like.

Wasn’t to bad. Took about 4 1/2 hrs from start to... in back of the truck. Now it’s off to ECGS for new gears & a locker rebuild, along with new bearings all around. I figured since the ring gear is fucked I might as well rebuild the entire thing. I really can’t complain... I’ve never been shy...
